Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

7th in 7 horse race....

Newcastle have 117 games in hand and only need 88 points to overtake us.

That’s picking holes …. But actually, it’s very instructive at how rubbish we’ve been in the PL era.

Anyway, watching Burnley v Sunderland and there’s plenty of decent ballers on show.

Think we have more chance of KDH than McAtee, Mcatee will be in demand and city will want top dollar to offset their spending. KDH has to build a PL career so the likes of us and the Hammers will be attractive to him.

The only way we will go down is if we don't get some extra bodies in. It makes sense to try and get some business done in this window as we have our own players potentially leaving for free in the summer. It will be absolute chaos if we leave all that work to do at the end of the season
I do worry about how easy a sell we are currently to any player of the standard we need.

Are the likes of McAtee going to be salivating about leaving their current club to join up with David Moyes for a relegation battle?

I think it would help if we buying better quality players, also guaranteed playing time by going straight into the starting line-up. We would move away from the bottom.

I think we will be ok anyway, but we do need to pull our fingers out and fast.

James McAtee - The Salford Silva

Number one pick this window, for me. Left-footed, right-winger. Class at Sheffield U playing alongside Ndiaye. City want £20m for him this month.

Previous academy city sales…Cole Palmer, Morgan Rogers, Romeo Lavia. I could see McAtee going straight to the top.

Add in Dewsbury Hall on loan and we might actually start passing the ball as well

His contract is up in the summer. And they’ve just spent another £100m on players.

I’d love to see us play actual football for a while. Like that six game period under Ancelotti

Pace, skill and technique. But must say it's a long long time since I've seen a player with such poise - that split second to think before he executes. Seems to have all the time in the world. Extraordinary.

Yes, totally. I mean, Moyes has to be more of a pull than Dyche. Plus, PSR has done one, so we can offer a better package for a player.

Also, Moshiri has gone which means all the circus stories have died down.
Certainly less of a repulsion

He has signed some of our previous targets like Kudus tbf, so let’s hope his sales pitch is good

Saying that... seems we are back, hot on the press for the wrong reasons ...

I don't see why not .

Did he strke up an understanding with Ndjaye at Sheff utd , I remember Ndjaye and Gustav Hamer running the show for them.

Think we were linked with McAtee when he was there too , he would be an outstanding signing if it happened.
I personally would push the boat out for the lad he's everything we need.

Put down a few extra mil for the right player if we can - I understand the search for value but we are sorely lacking quality.
