Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

Agree would rather he took the extra days we aren't getting anyone before Sunday so make sure its right whoever we are bringing in. We could press the button on Nuamah and that is most of our budget gone on a player with pace but on mostly potential. In our situation we need a bit more of a difference maker to go into the first team too..

My take on the lad, the one thing the French league does show and give go young players is the chance to show their potential ...

There's a reason why Chelsea and city buy a lot of you g players from there...

Meantime we have pretty much free run at signing this lad...

Should tell us something

I understand all that but there’s been glaringly obvious holes in this squad for a number of years. He’s not addressed the pace issue in the side, he’s failed when trying to sign an adequate centre forward and we’re having to play a left back who’s terrified of the ball because he’s never had any competition. Teams like Bournemouth and Brentford make our recruitment team look amateur at best.

To be honest, last summer we were talking about DCL being a 30m+ player.

Yup he's actually worth two bob, but Thelwell was never trying to buy a replacement it was always a backup

James McAtee - The Salford Silva

Number one pick this window, for me. Left-footed, right-winger. Class at Sheffield U playing alongside Ndiaye. City want £20m for him this month.

Previous academy city sales…Cole Palmer, Morgan Rogers, Romeo Lavia. I could see McAtee going straight to the top.

Add in Dewsbury Hall on loan and we might actually start passing the ball as well

His contract is up in the summer. And they’ve just spent another £100m on players.

I’d love to see us play actual football for a while. Like that six game period under Ancelotti

It'd take more than 20m and unless the lad idolises his great uncle we have no chance.

But good god he'd transform this team instantly...

Btw, if he goes out of contract the panel would decide the feeling as he's homegrown, and guessing they'd start at 15/20m

I think it would help if we buying better quality players, also guaranteed playing time by going straight into the starting line-up. We would move away from the bottom.

I think we will be ok anyway, but we do need to pull our fingers out and fast.

Show Mcatee a video of Howards way. Sat you see you're grand uncle, ...

But if taking an age avoids the likes of some of our recent signings, is that a bad thing?
You watch. We'll end up signing 'proven' Premier League dross if we're not careful. This lad has talent, but that's all it is at this point - he needs coaching. He also has lots of pace - which we desperately need.

If we go out and bring in players like Willian or Danny Ings and the like, we'll be no better off. But, hey they're Premier League proven.

I don't see why not .

Did he strke up an understanding with Ndjaye at Sheff utd , I remember Ndjaye and Gustav Hamer running the show for them.

Think we were linked with McAtee when he was there too , he would be an outstanding signing if it happened.
I personally would push the boat out for the lad he's everything we need.

Said to my brother the other day, I'd do as big an offer as I could and give them first choice on Branthwaite

I think they'll be in for Branthwaite regardless in the summer. He'll get his pick of clubs (regardless of injuries and form this season) no matter what.

Would be good for us though if he really picks up as we're going to need to get a huge amount for him so we can start a proper rebuild.

Agree mate, need to avoid any player over 30/31.

Here's hoping

Totally agree macca

It's why we should realise it and use it

It's just who turns his head first tbh.

I'll whisper this quietly, but the rs should be in for him as a replacement for VVD and they'd have a centre half for the next 10 years to build a team around.

But I think it'll be City and I reckon we'll end up having to take a bid of around 50m+

Or he could shock us all and be happy to stay another season but I don't see that and I see a scenario where we have to sell one more player for big money
