Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

Is Lewis Ferguson back fit? He’d be perfect for that #10 role and seems like a DM signing. Wonder how much he’d cost

This the dictionary definition of a David Moyes signing. Not sure if he'd go now but I can see Moyes making him priority number one in the summer.

As you say, he's ideal as a replacement for Doucoure as he's a blend of Cahill and Naismith. Also captains the club which ticks Moyes's personality criteria. Plus Scottish which is another major trait DM looks for. My boss works out of Bologna and he's been praising Ferguson constantly. He was voted best midfielder in Italy last season. It would be expensive but a very good buy in my opinion.

He’d be an excellent signing.

If only we had a scouting network - at the moment we are reliant on Thelwell playing Championship Manager 2021 in his undercrackers.

We do have one and Thelwell has nothing to do with it! Dan Purdy (Head of Recruitment) is the person in charge of a team of scouts, they get away with murder here and have done for years.

No creditable links to anyone at this stage is a tad worrying.
What I would say is we’re definitely active. Moyes has made that very clear. So there are links, they just aren’t breaking out into the public realm.

That’s not a bad thing, I don’t think. The lack of publicity might actually help with getting deals over the line.

The club being discreet would not stop players' agents from mouthing off though

Moyes in charge of transfers?

Hes very rarely signed a good player in a decade.

Frightening. If i knew that when he came in i wouldnt bother checking this thread until the last 3 days of the window.
You've suggested we should have signed Paqueta, Bowen, Scamacca, Kudus, Edson Alvarez.

You thought JWP would be interesting, seemed keen on the idea of Kral.

He signed very little during his first West Ham stint, admittedly bought poorly at Sunderland but they were a car crash.
