Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

We do have one and Thelwell has nothing to do with it! Dan Purdy (Head of Recruitment) is the person in charge of a team of scouts, they get away with murder here and have done for years.

Head of Recruitment and a team of scouts….genuinely stunned here.

I assumed it was Thelwell on his own in a portakabin, watching clips on YouTube, drinking a cup-a-soup, Gnonto posters on the wall.

Whatever about January, they will have to be quick off the blocks in the summer.

This month is always distilled into the last 48 hours for 90% of business and clubs don't seem to like trading this month.

Would be shocked if we signed anyone at this stage
I have doubts too but not giving up hope just yet. I said yesterday, I’m not entirely sure what the TFG have to offer in terms of funds in the transfer market, and they have it all to prove for me. They’ll be judged on their actions. The only thing we DO currently know, is we’re still hamstrung by PSR so still have little wiggle room this window. We’ll find out post July, just how much the new owners are prepared to invest in a squad that will need many reinforcements.

I’ve read that PSR is a constraint in this window which is why we are looking to sell Beto before investing in new players.
Whether this changes after DCL’s injury, time will tell.

We really could do with a few under the radar signings, especially those from other european leagues. Some interesting players have their contracts ending this summer.
Kenny Tete & Ola Aina are both a good couple of Premier League experienced full backs.
I'd imagine them not signing contract is down to them looking for a nice trip abroad or just waiting for there clubs to up there wages though

…I think Tete is sidelined for a while but both Fulham full-backs are a good example that you don’t need big bucks to bring in quality.
