Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

…I think Tete is sidelined for a while but both Fulham full-backs are a good example that you don’t need big bucks to bring in quality.

Young Swedish left back whose not been able to settle at Roma, they only paid 5m for him, he'd be a decent very low cost/risk pick-up, culturally and language wise Liverpool a way easier move for a Scandinavian young player then Rome.

I recall Fellaini came out of nowhere & nobody had a clue who he was & why we’d paid £15m for a bean pole with crazy hair.

Moyes will be in Thelwell’s office every day & on to TFG …

We’ll be doing business 110%

Fellaini was because Moyes could t get who he wanted from Liege which was DeFour, basically Felli was a super late decision by Moyes

  • We are not set up to play with a striker like Ings, we are set up to play with a target man
  • Ings had several hamstring injuries in the past and can no longer run
  • Ings had several knee injuries in the past and this limits his ability to jump and turn
  • Ings is one of the highest paid players at West Ham and is not going to move for less money.
I would sooner we play a kid from the academy than waste money on Danny Ings
He’s also West Ham’s only fit striker. I actually don’t think they would let him go unless they got actual decent money for him

I think it’s nice that we don’t have circus and rumours flying round like under Moshiri when we were wasting millions every window

Although it’s clear Moyes was desperate to come back here, there’s no way he would’ve done without assurances he could buy a few players

I’ll be surprised if we don’t sign at least two first team players, one of which will be a striker (especially with dom injured again)

4 goals in 50 games.

Yep, he's the answer.
Damn , that’s one hell of a drop off . My fault for not checking sources .

Fair enough . Didn’t know about his recent injury record .

Cheers guys . Let’s hope that’s the final time he’s mentioned here .

When looking at Moyes time with us we look at Cahill and Felli for the types of player in that number ten role, but both ended up there after he failed to get the players he really wanted to play that position.

Both DeFour and Mourinho Moyes really tried for - with us now having the funds to go for those style/calibre of player I think Moyes will try to get in a similar style of player to that now.

Ideally I think Moyes wants a skillful playmaker in that role, one who gets into the box and contributed a fair few goals also. A proper number ten.

I've said a good few times one who I really feel Moyes will go for (and get - in that number ten role) the striker though I have zero even gut instinct about, hopefully pulls a rabbit out his hat for one

Exactly same my concern regarding dithering Dave.

How bad would it be if we did end up with Ings ?
He must be the most non Evertonian player discussed in this place . He’s either scoring against us or making heads fall off in a transfer thread .

I wouldn’t be totally against a very short contract.
I cant see this one. Moyes was pretty clear that he dosen't want to bring in any players that don't improve us. The only thing that Ings would do for us is increase the wage bill and increase the workload for the medical staff. Hard swerve for me.

Apparently we're not close to signing anyone according to the ITKs.

One thing I will say...Moyes will be absolutely fuming if no one is brought in especially given how vocal he's been about the need for bodies.

Is the number 10 role still a thing? I thought most clubs had abandoned it.
