Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

Meanwhile, in the real world.

But not only that, you would want to try and sign a player who can’t even be arsed putting in the effort any more for his boyhood club, to the point where the manager is calling him out and saying he’d rather play the tea lady.

WTF is wrong with some people? 🤷🏻‍♂️

Rule 1 never ever go near any player whose happy to either not play or who CBA when they do.

Rule 2 never buy an over 25yo on a massive contract at a 'big' club, unless they are a complete professional player like G Barry

Rule 3 never buy a player from a meh team whose late 20s and regarded as the best player there, Everton then becomes their retirement home as they know they won't ever get a bigger move now or better wage elsewhere.

Rule 4 never sign anyone from the Dutch league

Rules on who to sign.

Players who've been never given the chance from the big academies, and who push for a move in order to play.
Under 25s who've had a great season and look to be kicking on in the championship or foreign leagues.
Under 25s who've had a really bad move which has saw their value/demand drop.

Ive watched plenty of him mate, im over here now and watch a lot of Brazilian football.

He would be a crowd favourite, is a very good finisher and also loves a battle with CBs
Puts himself about a lot and works hard.

He is a proper Everton number 9, obviously its a big step up but i wouldnt be against it at all.

He is about 1 goal in 3 striker over his career
Get two of him please.

Everton are active in the market, they are looking for a striker and midfielder at the very least and are exploring the possibilities of free agents, domestic transfer lists as well as European loans. Lots of names mentioned although previous links are wide of the mark since a change of manager.

Look to strikers not getting many minutes in the Premier league and say that Everton are “exploring” a deal for them.
This is how easy it is to be an ITK

I'd bring in Mcatee to play the number 10 spot mate.
He's the best level we can hope for and the double effects of getting Doucoure out of the starting 11 too.

Also a player you can guarantee will be up for the fight but can long term solve a huge problem area we've had.

Maybe striker is more needed, but simply put can't see us being able to attract much better than Beto right now, so I'd go for the area we can improve the most in.

Bit of a rambling post, but I'd also not be surprised if Moyes considered moving one of (if not both) of Lindstrom/NDiaye to play as a number 9. I think Lindstrom has done it before.

People seem to assume that Moyes wants big grocks as centre forwards, but from what I can see most of his teams didn't. When he first came here Radzinski played most. Yes we had Beattie, but quickly moved to Andy Johnson, before using midfielders like Fellaini/Cahill up top. We then had Yakubu and I'm pretty sure Mirallas played up front a bit as well.

I look at him at West Ham and he converted wingers Arnautovic and Antonio to be number 9s.

So if the right striker isn't ready, but we can get other players in, then in some ways it makes sense to do it.
