I cant see any links to Aarons.

Apparently something bouncing around from the Athletic. We might just be recycling information from September. I like the look of Aarons, especially when you factor in Ancelotti wants players who have experience- which he does. The flip of it is though, giving Holgate a run could be a prudent thing to do currently. See it he can make the position his own.

I like Holgate, a LOT, but I dont ever see him being a fullback, personally.

It might be that Carlo has told him to stay back, but we need to see vastly more going forward.

You havent watched him.

You expect me to believe you watch Norwich bloody City?

Nar bruv, nar.
I watched them ship goals last year. This year I've not watched 90 minutes but I have watched clips to check up on Buendia and before that our old friend Kieran Dowell. And to be quite honest I can't remember Aarons doing anything in them now that I think about it.

I quite like him too, but he hasn't fully nailed a position down yet. I think there are still some question marks about his size at CB (I do accept he's quick and has filled out).

I think there is a good potential right back in there. Football goes in circles really and the tendency is to have 2 wingers playing at full back, but it evolves, and returns to where it once was. We have shown that there is a way to put a winnable team out with solidity at fullback. Holgate is a good Athlete, carries the ball well, has decent vision- the reverse pass for Calvert Lewin was good on Saturday. I think there's enough out there to work with, and if he can get a run, you never know.

I think most people have fallen in love with his name.

It happens a LOT, people say "We should sign XXX XXXX", then everybody jumps on without ever watching them play.

Hes a very talented boy.

I honestly have no idea what his level is but I do remember last year that he seemed to do more going forward than backward and he's also like 5'7 so I just can't see him succeeding in a system where he is trying to defend in the box for long periods.

Just not quite worked for him at CB yet. I personally think he's best in the right of a 3 (a lot sturggle with a back 3, so thats a compliment).

I have a hunch that Ancelotti probably want to use slightly more solid fullbacks that we've had before. He wants fullbacks to defend first. He could square that for him.

His team are sitting on top of the league and hes been involved in 1 goal all season.

That to me seems a concern.

I did read a tactical breakdown of Ancelotti that said he likes his RB to defend first.

Unless it’s easier to score in the championship, maybe we should sell DCL and buy the top scorer in the championship
He's not a goalscorer though. He does other stuff and it is fine if he scores 5 goals a season. The only issue was he got 0 last year but what I'm saying is someone hitting double digits in the championship might not score 0 every year.
