Everton January transfer window 2021

Yeah, I agree with that and is something we should have done in the summer window. We were already short in quality cover for the front 3 positions, but with losing both Tosun and Bernard, and with Simms out on loan, we are now seriously short in numbers too. Given James's fitness concerns we really can't leave ourselves in his position. I'd take loan deals for Costa or King right now, just to get bodies in.

But the lack of any credible rumours is very concerning.
Tosun came on several times this season and bearly kicked the ball, let alone looking like scoring

Which is why I don't think Carlo will sign him.
We've been here before, desperate signings which haven't paid off.
Personally, I think we will wait until the summer.
But then if DCL gets injured again, or Richy, we don’t have a recognised striker.

If Richy goes up front, then his position is weakened and Gordon or Bernard are rumoured to be going out too.

to let 3 strikers and Bernard go out on loan and leave yourself short would be classed as extremely negligent.

Maybe had to offload Tosun first
That's true, but with any form of contingency planning you'd suspect names had been sounded and initial enquiries made.

The likes of Josh King, if true, stink of utter desperation as he'll be wanting decent wages while not really offering much if his recent form is anything to go off.

Very few will really know what is going on behind the scenes so in reality it's all conjecture, but again leaving it late with such a blatant deficiency is worrying.

Getting tired of this --- Who? Do they grow on tress?
No they don't. On the other hand, how many other teams are so short on options up front? What other teams are letting players go to rely solely on one striker?

However you want to polish it up, to have one recognised forward is simply not good enough for a PL club let alone a club that is aspiring to challenge etc.

We're talking about the attacking options in our squad for the rest of the season. We have 5 for 3 positions which already includes Gordon. Simms is out on loan and Onyangu is a midfielder. We're down to bare bones Catcher. Plus we know James needs resting regularly and Carlo still doesn't trust Gordon as we witnessed at the weekend

Yes I saw the bit about the attacking players on 2nd reading. It feels a big gamble what we have done mate, and I can't say I am not a little bit surprised. At present we have it all to gain, but in a lot of ways all to lose. The gap from 4-10th feels small bit significant, and we are gambling on players staying fit.

Yeh, wolves have been beaten by palace and home to West Brom since, they are aeful
Sheffield it’s had one point in the board out of about 40++
rotherham are, well Rotherham
Leicester, West Ham and skunks, we probably had about 4 shots on target in the three games.
Yes, we won some, but against terrible teams in poor form 1-0

the last time we played well was nearly 6 weeks ago, other than shef weds.

I don't think it is going to be a season, or manager for "playing well" though mate. He's interested in maximising results.
