Benitez and primarily Dalglish with his pathetic one line attempted put down answers to reporters have turned the media against the club. I think it shows a measure of desperation from Gerrard.I think that most neutrals who watched the game would say that Everton were the better team,even though Liverpool could have stolen the game at the end. I am not sure who Gerrard is trying to fool,but I think it may be the Liverpool supporters,Liverpool are at best a mid table team now and Gerrards desperate outburst makes me think that just maybe he realises this.
We should also remember that we were missing our regular central midfielder(Gibson),had our most industrious and creative player injured(Pienaar) and had the best player on the pitch in the first half replaced at half-time through injury(Mirallas).

Everton have a better squad than Liverpool at the moment and by more than a small margin.

I know a lot of people probably won't agree with me but I also think we missed Anichebe. I think he could've made a real impact late on coming off the bench

I've said for years Gerrard has been more arsed about Everton than united. What with sendings off, two footed lunges, previous comments and now this. But he'll keep telling himself united is the real rivalry. not a better captain out there more representative of his club's fans.

LIVERPOOL FC skipper Steven Gerrard says he went “too far†with his comments about Everton's style following Sunday’s controversial Merseyside derby.

The Reds midfielder, who described the Blues as a “long ball team†who are “very similar to Stokeâ€, admits emotions were running high after seeing Luis Suarez’s last-gasp strike wrongly disallowed for offside.

“Just to clarify I’ve watched the game again, and I’ve seen some of Everton’s matches this season, and what I said in relation to their style of play went too far,†Gerrard told the ECHO.

“I was frustrated by the disallowed goal from Luis when I spoke and also some of the things that have been said about Luis in recent weeks which haven’t been fair in my opinion.

“As captain I have a duty to stand up for our players when I feel they are unfairly singled out.

“But it wasn’t my intention to disrespect Everton or Stoke for that matter and I certainly didn’t intend any disrespect to their manager or players.

“I have the utmost respect for David Moyes and Tony Pulis and the job they have done at their respective clubs.

“My main issue was with the goal that wasn’t given and that Liverpool did not get the three points I felt we deserved in what was a fantastic derby match.â€

I like that he had to watch a video of the game again - he should know how many passes we had compared to them as he had a good view of standing around watching the match. He certainly wasn't involved in much of the play - was a great player but now his legs have gone he'll prevent them from moving forward as they don't have the bottle to drop him

If that was the case then why havnt they made suarez apologise for some of his antics? I jus think gerrard has reslised what a complete embarassment he is...
