Everton players out on loan (2015/16)

Of course they will want to keep ledson as he seems to be their best player.

However, not sure if the games will help him or he needs to step up a level. Also was hoping to see him get off the bench for us by season end.

@atrottel asked me to do the loan round-up this weekend since he's busy, so here it is:

League One

Wigan
- Francisco Junior

Wigan played Barnsley in the FA Cup and Junior spent the whole game on the bench. Not sure what happened since he seemed to be doing quite well at the start of the season but now he can't seem to get a game.

Doncaster Rovers - Grant and Mattioni

Conor Grant played the full 90 in an FA Cup game vs Ledson's Cambridge United while Mattioni was out injured.

Grand scored 2 goals in a 3-1 win, first one maybe a bit fortunate to go in but the second one was quality

OS match report

"an in swinging corner from Grant almost caught everyone out, before hitting the post."
"It took the away side just seconds after the restart to level the match when Mitchell Lund did brilliantly down the right hand side before picking out Grant who placed his effort into the back of the net from the edge of the area."
"Rovers doubled their lead less than a minute later; this time Grant added to his own tally with a delightful 25 yard strike that thumped the post and arrowed into the top corner."

Fan comments

"We didn't play well and just that bit of quality in second half won us the game especially Grant what a player he is."
"Watch out footballing world... Grant is a serious talent"
"Conor Grant can certainly hit them"
"Conor Grant's 2nd goal was an absolute beauty, what a signing he's been"

Fleetwood Town - David Henen

They didn't play this weekend after getting knocked out of the FA Cup a few weeks ago.

League Two

Cambridge United
- Ryan Ledson

Played 78 minutes against Grant's Doncaster Rovers in a 3-1 loss.

OS match report

"The goal gave United additional confidence and they continued to string longs spells of positive possession together, as Berry and Ledson pulled the strings and Newton acting as a real menace to Doncaster breaking up their play at every opportunity with a dogged first half display."

Fan Comments

"Thought Taylor had a nightmare along with Corr and Ledson today. Very poor."
"Not sure about Ledson again, just not seeing it."
"For me first half, the outstanding players would be Dunk, Ledson and Newton as a trio - All three compliment each other very well. I'm surprised to see so many people questioning Ledsons input, the work rate he puts in and the nitty gritty jobs who a lot of other footballs won't do he does. Adds a very much needed lock hold on the midfield allowing Berry and Newton a little more creativity."

Quite a lot of disagreement in there, and a few were questioning the negative reviews of Ledson. Most of them were just after the game finished and could have just been frustration since Cambridge lost after being 1-0 up for about 50 minutes.

National League

Chester
- Calum Dyson

Looks like we've recalled him, Chester fans seem to think it was because he was being played on the wing instead of as a centre forward.

Doncaster Rovers have been drawn against Stoke City in the FA Cup which means Grant (and Mattioni if he's fit) could be playing against Premier League opposition.

Thanks to you and @atrottel. These write ups are great to look forward to after the weekend. It can be very tricky to find information about the lower leagues. I especially enjoy that you will comb through the forums for the fans opinions. A lot of the time the paper write ups are pretty straight forward and just spitting out the facts.
