Just to recap with Twitter, etc.

Johnstone Paint Trophy
Fleetwood Town - David Henen played full match in 2-0 home win over Morecambe

OS Match Report

"Thompson then had to be alert to keep out David Henen, who worked space for himself on the left and shot at goal only to be denied by the keeper’s fingertips."
"Some neat interplay involving Henen and Sarcevic almost brought the first goal, with the latter’s effort deflecting just over the bar."
"Town quickly looked to double the advantage through Henen, but his low strike was saved well by the feet of the shop stopper."
"On-loan Everton man Henen very nearly made it three late on as he cut in from the right and shot just wide of the goal with a fierce strike."

Twitter stuff
.@HenenDavid has his first effort on goal, a teasing run past the full back sees him pull the trigger, keeper saves! 0-0 (27)
.@TariqeFosu and @HenenDavid try to find a way through but the former's pass is held by the on-rushing keeper. 0-0 (58)
.@ftfc so close to a second, @HenenDavid breezes past the Morecambe backline but drags an effort wide. 1-0 (65)
Great @ftfc football. First, @davidbally23 pulls a good save from Thompson, @HenenDavid on the follow up just misses the target. 1-0 (69)
.@HenenDavid glides past the Morecambe backline, strikes at ball, inches past the post. Good play @ftfc. 2-0 (88)

Fans on forum hoping his loan wasn't finished and, as @mightymoyes mentioned above, they got their wish off Henen's Twitter account:
"I'm happy with the victory tonight, we're going into semi final . I'm happy to have extended my contract one month with @ftfc"

Well his loan at Halifax has finished , so I believe he's back with us but wasn't in the squad for the u21 derby. So unclear as to what's happening.
Is the loan window closed now? And can he go on another loan after being at 3 clubs already this season? Be harsh if not since they only played him in 2 games.

Remember him saying his next step was to get a loan to a league club before the end of the season.
For some reason i would love to see us produce a goalkeeper who looks a real talent.
Im not sure if Griffiths is that talent but surely a league 2 side woudnt mind him 2nd half of the seaason

That's good if it means he can get out on loan again, nothing better for a keeper than games. Griffiths is an interesting one, he gave a MOTM performance in the U18 final vs City that basically won us the league (because it used to be a playoff system to decide the winner). Then he did well for the U21s and he's the first keeper we've sent out on loan for a while. He moved up 3 leagues in 3 months and was one of the best players at his first 2 clubs.

Then at the last one his first game was a cup game against a league 2 side and they got battered. The fans still seemed to think he did quite a good job though, he came for crosses and supposedly made a fantastic save to stop the score getting ridiculous but he made mistakes like coming out when he shouldn't and diving too early when one on one with the striker. In his first league game he came out to stop a one-on-one and legally got the ball, but still got a red card (which was later rescinded). That seemed to be enough to panic Halifax though since they were in the relegation zone of the national league and they ended his loan and got a League One keeper instead. Griffiths is still only 19 and he seems to be highly rated but he needs a lot more experience before he gets anywhere near our team.

The only one of his games with highlights online is the FA Cup game which he didn't do very well in. You can watch it here though:

can maybe do a youth loan? the rules for various loans are quite hard to follow.

Youth

Players who are the second or third year of their Scholarship Agreement or a contract player aged 20 or under on July 1 prior to the start of the season.
Permitted during the Registration Period (transfer windows) and the Close Period with the exception of the following dates when clubs cannot sign a player on a Youth Loan.
A) Seven days after the summer transfer window - normally September 1-to-7 inclusive
B) After 5pm on the fourth Thursday in November - opens in January
C) Seven days after the closure of the January window - normally February 1-7 inclusive
D) After 5pm on the fourth Thursday in March - end of the season
Loans can be made to and from clubs in the Football League, Premier League, The Football Conference Premier Division and Football Conference North and South.

I think it is very difficult for premiership teams to bring goalkeepers through to the first team.

They cannot be risked playing as there is so much at stake and they cannot get experience without playing.
Goalkeepers also have a much longer apprenticeship than outfield players.

....I was chatting with a Fleetwood fan yesterday morning and he said this was a massive game for them as the final is at Wembley. He also said Fleetwood were much the better team in Saturday's defeat at Blackpool but were trying to walk the ball in.

Anyone know if the forthcoming ban on emergency loans and the ending of the separate loan Windows will affect youth loans as well as first team player loans?
