Charlton Match Report
"Another change was in the offing as McAleny entered the fray, replacing Fox for his debut with 16 minutes remaining, while Igor Vetokele came on for Makienok with 80 on the clock. "
The Everton loanee came close with a first-time side-footed effort with seven minutes left, and again with a low shot just past the post in injury-time, but Charlton just could not get past that impenetrable wall of Terriers, while the visitors found a variety of ways to count the clock down."
Fan comments
"McAleny was positive but could only muster a couple of weak shots wide"
"Not many positives - although (once he'd settled) thought McAleny looked technically very good and reminded a bit of a young Scotty Parker in looks."
"Finally, I thought the one positive was the lad from Everton. He is clearly capable of playing at tempo and whilst not everything worked out for him he will make things happen. He is also just the sort of player who will make those third man runs into the box that we so lack at present."
"I think a combatative, not very creative midfield is fine when you have at least one - if not two - out and wingers that hug the touchline and put in consistently good crosses. Especially when we play two up front and have a 6ft 7 forward. McAlney (spelling?), in the 15mins or so I saw today, does not look like that sort of winger, he looked to be more in the JBG mold, an inside forward type."

Stockport County: Jordan Thorniley - played whole game in 0-1 away defeat to Chorley (goal deflected off him), booked in second half
Chorley launch a series of bombardments towards County's goal, but a combination of feet, heads & Thorniley's knee keeps them out.
Corner to County... and Thorniley's header is palmed off the line by Ashton! Two more corners follow, but, sadly, in vain.
