Granted it's a small sample size but you can't compare the Scottish farmers league to the prem. Worrying reading ijjy
So the transfer fee should be based on the level of the league, rather than the value of the player? Seems a bit of a weird way of working it out. It's more that we really shouldn't be paying a team in a tinpot league the going rate for a player from an actual league. We should be in a position of strength on this - for me, it's £25m at the very, very max and, if need be, you increase the money you pay the player to get him to join rather than the fee to the club - Celtic can't turn down £25m in my view for any player.
So, let's give them Cuco if he's better. Win/winView attachment 47486

Surely a good scout would be able to work out if he stands out because he is playing against poor teams or because he is actually good. He has also played quite a few champions league and internationals, so has come up against much better teams plenty of times.Sure. It's due to how much of a gamble it is that the player will adapt to a higher quality league. It's why Afonso Alves wasn't worth £50m despite scoring a goal a game in Holland. If Tierney was terrorising defences in Spain he'd be worth triple what he is now for tearing apart Dumbarton or whoever on a weekly basis.
It's not a weird way of looking at it at all; just common sense.

Anyway, my point was, what exactly is the difference between a 25m player and a 30m player. Some have suggested one is a fair price and the other is not, so what exactly is the difference between a 25m player and a 30m one?
