Everton reopen talks with Sam Allardyce

Sorry, absolute nonsense. Those players "man for man" finished 20+ points clear of those sides around us only a few months ago. Sigurdsson was Swansea's best player by a mile and he's not even one of our top five; Williams was probably their best ever defender and he's a pile of cack. Pickford is a better goalkeeper than the lot of them in my view, Keane was linked with United in July, Mirallas is gash yet would walk into the West Ham side now and be hailed as Messi incarnate.

I'll say it again - peoples heads have well and truly fallen off here. Like Chelsea, those world class players didn't suddenly all turn into Carlton Cole overnight that season; it was a form issue. We have the exact same problem - a complete lack of form, confidence and balance that doesn't need a 'relegation specialist', whatever that means, to rectify.

Rather than combat relegation, we should be still aiming to finish in the top six. And no, that isn't delusion - that should be the 'aim' with an appointment; finish high, not scramble for 17th.

Form my ass. Jags, Williams and Baines are effectively finished as competent premier league performers. Nobody is getting a tune out of Schneiderlain as he’s decided to wind down his career and enjoy his contract.
Keane looks like he’s just finished a tour of Vietnam, utterly shell shocked. He’s not improving any time soon.

Who knows what standard Coleman, Bolasie, Mori will return at.

We’ve played 25 games this season and been poor in them all. I don’t recall us winning a game in pre season.

This isn’t ‘form’. It’s a truly rotten squad.

But those are still international players. Are you telling me our squad on paper is one of the 3 worst squads in the league? Because I’m not having that at all because it blatantly isn’t.

Something has undeniably gone badly wrong this year and I’m not sure anyone knows why that is. You can point at a lack of replacement for Lukaku etc etc, but we apparently “won the transfer window” and invested heavily. Keane was sought after and was hugely impressive last season and won an England cap on the back of it.

He now looks like a pub player who has no clue. Why?

Williams was captain of Swansea and Wales and the Swansea supporters were distraught when they lost him. He looks like one of the worst centre halves in our history! Why?

You don’t go from being “dark horses for a top 4 place” to desperately clinging on to PL status in a matter of months. There is enough talent in the squad to be comfortable in mid table at the very least.

The fact is we aren’t. Something has gone horribly wrong and it needs sorting.

But nobody will convince me that Allardyce is the only option to get a tune out of this squad to get us safe. That’s absolutely ridiculous.

Yes, I am telling you that it's one of the worst in the league. Because it is.

Jagielka and Williams are bottom half Championship players.

Kenny is currently a Championship defender with potential.

Keane is a mid table Premier League player with some potential left to improve.

Baines is a top level Championship player who can do a job as back up in the Premier League.

Martina is a midtable League 1 player.

Gueye is a bottom half Premier League player who's had one very good half of a season.

Schneiderlin is a good Premier League footballer but completely uninterested in playing for Everton.

Davies is currently a bottom half Premier League player with potential.

Sigurdsson is a mid table/bottom half Premier League player.

Mirallas is a literal waste of a wage.

Lennon is a bottom half Premier League player.

Rooney is a bottom half Premier League player.

Niasse is a competent mid table/bottom half Premier League player.

DCL is currently a top Championship player with potential.

This squad is very very poor. That might be hard to accept for people, but it's just the fachts.

Utterly deluded fanbase. Actually beyond comical at this point.
I’m staggered. I didn’t realise we had quite these levels of delusion amongst our fans. It’s scary.

If we went down guaranteed there’d be people who’d chose not to accept it and would probably try and protest it based on some minor technicality such as the opposition’s striker had different coloured boot laces and it was an unfair distraction.

Rooney, DCL, Niasse, Mirallas, Siggurdson vs Benteke, Zaha, Puncheon, Townsend vs Carroll, Ayew, Arnautovic, Lanzini

Tough choices here...

What I can't understand is why interview him then spend four weeks looking elsewhere only to double back and go back for Sam when things get so bad ?Desperate. Just an utter mess of a recruitment process. Stinks of Bill wanting Unsy and it getting worse with him in charge. We should have got Dyche a month ago he was available and probably keen.As much as I want Everton to play good football, I think we are in the kind of mess that requires someone like Big Sam sadly even basic levels of application and organisation aren't there right now, we need a big character to imprint on these gutless players we can fool ourselves into thinking we will be ok but currently we look gone and ruderless. Do I like it?No but I will grudgingly take Sam till the end of the season when we can reassess, this season is a write off now, just hope we can be safe.

Sam is sadly the only viable option now. We had a poor summer in the end started brightly but they didn't do enough to secure the right players. The Defense is shocking, we are creating nothing going forward. Sam has worked with people with big ego's and got a tune out off them. He will tighten up the defense. he has been probably the best english manager over the past few years. He will make us harder to beat which we all crave now. Those moaning about his style off football, are use happy with what we have watched the past 20 years? The way we our playing we will be relegated. Give it Sam till the end off the season and we can review in the summer. Hopefully get back on track and if it is true walsh didnt make them signings give him this summer. We still need a huge clear out.

lol imagine it.

NAH WE WEREN'T ONE OF THE WORST TEAMS IN THE LEAGUE LAST SEASON. EVERY PLAYER WOZ JUST OUT OF FORM FOR THE WHOLE SEASON.

He's got us right over the barrel.

We've went back to him after initially swerving him, so it'll all be on his terms. Unfortunately for us, these terms will result in him possibly getting an 18 month - 2yr contract knowing full well we're likely to bin him in the Summer so yet again MORE COMPO.

Club that finished high in the league previous season in a relegation scrap by November-December the following season despite having largely the same squad and same manager, sacking said manager after that period of form and looking for a new manager.

Yes, sounds totally different to me...
Chelsea had a great squad. We have Martina, Big Ash and Jags.

It’s totally different because their squad was absolutely littered with world class talent. We haven’t got a single player that’d get in to the top 6, except maybe Barkley who is on his way out.

The two situations are very, very different.

and if Allardyce replicates his form upon taking over the last two teams he's had mid season mate, how you think the fans and board will react to that after 22-24 games and we are worse off than now and playing that style of football?

The other thing with this is, games are very congested now. If it takes 2-3 months to get his teams organised that will be longer than the 8/11 games it would was previously.
