Everton reopen talks with Sam Allardyce

Kenwright was desperate for Unsworth to prove himself ready for the job so he could give it to him. Sounds mad to say, but if Cleverley had slotted that penalty then they would probably have been forced into action during the international break there and then. The win bought Unsworth a couple more games. That's how sad and pathetic the people that run our club actually are.

Agree again... It was evident Unsworth wasn't equipped before that game, but lucking out gave him time he should never have had.

The board are to blame, they should have had a plan before removing Koeman.

If that happens, then it really points to problems outside of any managers control. These players were doomed from the outset.

There are two key stages in our survival. The first being the appointment of the right manager. No one can be completely sure who is the person able to get us out. But I suppose Big Sam is the surest thing out there. The second being the recruitment in the winter window. Judging by our track record recently this could all go tits up. I think Walsh needs replacing. I have no idea if Sam can recruit well when given substantial funds.

Walsh needs removing 100%, however the appointment of Allardyce will only strengthen his position in the club.

No-one knows if the right manager will be appointed, the squad has holes all over it and is poor when you look deeply into it - any manager is a risk, big Sam or Fonseca or Pep... all carry a risk it might not work.

Or it might click, its a dangerous game what the board have done.

Not sure if it's already been posted, but if not, supposedly according to the Daily Mirror (no laughing at the back) according to friends of Allardyce, he has told them that we will now have to "try and convince him to join Everton"

imagine that - we turned down his original demands, and now because we have gone begging he wants his pockets lining a bit more....

Shocker that really, considering how incompetent the board are.

Maybe cos they have only experienced it rhat once?
Sorry I don't understand what you mean?

The point i'm trying to make is that Allardyce isn't a miracle worker. He's quite good at getting teams scrapping, but the idea that he's the only person ever to have achieved these amazing feats of escape is absurd. He did something at Sunderland that loads of others have done. Clement saved Swansea last season, Pearson saved Leicester, Sherwood saved Villa, even Martinez was famed for getting Wigan out of the mire every year. We don't need an escape artist, we need a good coach with new ideas.

And what if we end up in the bottom 3 with Sam in charge??

Wil he still be the answer then?

Imagine how toxic this club will be if that happens??
Could easily happen with this bunch. But given the situation it's hard to think of another manager who could get them into shape. They really are that poor, but then you know that already.

This is the main point that needs to be addressed.
He was sacked as it seemed to be the "in thing to do".
Regardless of how the team was performing (hardly setting the league on fire since) but it should have been a swift change, not a dragged out procedure.

And Raneiri won the PL with Leicester.

Did it at Palace too.I've a friend who supports Sunderland who really does believe in miracles.

We are rubbish at the moment not one person Pro/Anti Allardyce could even claim different... we all have to agree on that.

I jus think we are too short sighted to even consider anything outside our shores, which realistically leaves Sam because no-one will move mid season. There are better man managers, tacticians and more successful around the world then Sam will ever be, I just dont believe the board are brave enough to even consider it.
