I don't want us to be in this position at all mate. I'd rather a manager like AVB or Fonseca and I think they'd turn it around and keep us up, however I feel it's inevitable that we'll get Sam and if we as fans don't just get behind him and the team things will get a lot worse. Dunno what else we can do that's helpful or beneficial to the situation.Lose tomorrow and you will all get your wish. So if we won't then what? You don't want fat Sam?
But they have to arbitrarily start somewhere don't they? You're not in a relegation battle if you lose your first game surely? Or if you've got 3 points from your first 4 games?Relegation battles are season-long things, they don't just arbitrarily start in March. Unless you're like 9th at Christmas and then lose 12 games in a row and end up being dragged into it.

In response to the last bit, we made Koeman one of the highest paid managers in the world for absolutely no.reason as well as overpaying tenfold for players - any manager or player we take now is absolutely going to rinse us.
* hugs @matty1878 . It'll be OK, mateIf fat Sam comes it's going to rip my heart and my pride to total shreds. It will make me consider my weekends which I've went the game for years. It's shameful it's disrespectful it's just so so wrong. Yearh I'm probably Guna have a breakdown but I can't comprehend this atall.

I'd feel better if he was still in Dubai.Want this to be announced, I'd feel better about tomorrow's game if he was in the dugout.

If you told me we'd been in a relegation battle in 2005/06 I'd say no chance, we finished 11th and were 16 points clear of the drop. And yet at the equivalent stage of the season we were in a worse position than we are now. A good run in January and February and suddenly we were looking at Europe again, things can change that quickly in football. I'm not saying there's no way we'll get relegated, simply that it's far too early in the season to be saying it's a relegation battle. I'd be saying the same if we were currently 4th and people were suggesting we were battling for the title.
In probably the most competative league in Europe (if not the World) in our position today what's needed is experience.Someone who's "been there done that".In an ideal world Allardyce wouldn't be in with a chance of managing our club, but after Sundays debacle (following the debacle of the Thursday before) it's obvious we need to get a manager in who has shown he can do the job that's needed. We can go on about rumours of what goes on behind closed doors and think about the sort of manager we can get if we just throw money at the problem, but while we are doing it we'll start to run out of games for someone to come in and sort out the mess. Why does it have to be a Top international manager? Silva isn't, we wanted him, Fonseca has nearly begged for a chance in England in an interview - I wouldn't exactly call him a top international manager.
Koeman was the 10th highest paid manager in the world, the entire world. I think it would be folly to presume that some managers from the continent wouldn't want an opportunity in the premier league on a percentage of what Koeman was on considering they could instantly be one of the top paid managers in Europe.
Thing is mate, and this is where everything falls down for me. Walsh's remit (even tho he is a scout) as DOF is to put a plan in place that if we sack a manager we have "profile" of who we go for next to fit in with the club. The board, Dof have failed miserably on this as its clear they dont know what they want, rumours of in house fighting and other [Poor language removed] going on proves that we haven't got a clue.
If we had a template of a manager in mind, how we want to play etc etc, it would be so much easier to narrow down and look to the continent. If we had a plan when we sacked Koeman we probably wouldn't be having the convo now.
The board have no direction or leadership and as such its all scatter gun and looks completely unprofessional.
For what its worth, Sam is meant to be getting £4m a year, thats just under what Zidane gets paid, what Emery gets paid and the same as Benitez. I know its all relative because we look like desperate fridges... but there is plenty of good managers who would jump through a lot of hoops for the opportunity in the premier league for that type of money.
