Well he’s still here and there’s been ZERO interest so it’s not really silly is it.

He went t on deadline day last summer mate, he's a player that teams aren't gonna be rushing to grab early he's an emergency pickup should recruitment fail to bring in what a club needed.

Nobody is sticking him top of any list, but he'll be there as a 'we can grab him late on with little problem'

Also mate, because Brighton were attempting to push on and improve.

Maupay is like I said a 7-8 goals per season player nothing more, but he has huge flaws meaning he can't play as a lone striker in any team that needs hold up play etc. he needs to be in a possession based team ideally or a counter team that plays it in behind.

We do neither.

Onana has just been sold for a very large fee and profit on what we brought him for.

The jury is only out so far on Ndiaye Lindstrom and Irogebunam because they haven’t played a league minute for us.

These players were listed to show that the scouting network was clearly stretching further than a bloke in the park in the UK.

The argument of whether recruitment is improving or not isn’t a difficult one because if you’re buying terrible players for 20-30 mill pounds then the only way it gets worse is if you start paying more for those terrible players. We’ve bringing the net spend down and wage bill down so even if these players were equally as terrible as those before, then it’s still arguably better recruitment seeing the same quality for less money spent.

As it is I think we are selling players at better value, making better use of selling academy players, and structuring deals for incoming players better. As you say it will take time to fully see if we have improved but league position and points total is up from last two seasons preceding it and financial metrics are going in the right direction around transfers.

As i said Braithwaite no argument with him but lets see how the second season goes if he is still here, Onana yes we have made money on him but lets see if all the hype of him being world class come out playing at Villa.
The jury is still out on Chermiti as we have no idea if he will make it looked lively in pre season but that's it up to now.
What i am saying is if we are going to have to pay 20 million for a player after a loan them we need to be finding these players before we have to pay that much and yes i can see through necessity about bringing the money down but we have do do that but we still dont know if any of the 3 lads you mention will do it this year or not i hope villa made a whopper on the midfielder.
We have made profit on one player so far the Dobbin one i believe most think thats was a bit of a fiddle to be honest , Im not in disagreement with most of what you say i think it just started off with a quip about the scouting from another person .

Perhaps like 30/40% of his salary it’s worth a punt, but that’s what Phillips is, a punt, there’s no guarantee based on the last two seasons that he’d be a success, his form suggests the opposite.

At no point should we even consider coving his entire wages in addition to a loan fee, there are much better options on loan that out there.

He’ll very much be pushing for a move but there’s only so much you can do to achieve that when you’re hampered by being Neal Maupay.

I'm surprised Brentford don't want him back. His goals return wasn't too bad and they've lost their main CF until new year and Toney will probably leave this window.

Guessing the fee wanted is too high and they'll wait until last day of window and try to sign him for knock down amount here.

Just one of those players who isn't going to work out here.
