Everton Summer 2024 Transfer Thread

I hate transfer restrictions as much as the next person but it’s forced us into being far more cautious with our signings and giving players like Branthwaite a chance in the first 11. If we can change ownership and flush through some of this financial mess then it gives the new owners a better base to work from than having loads of players who don’t want to be here sitting on 5 year deals on over 100k a week.
Couldn’t agree more mate. Our financial difficulties actually made us make proper transfers for once

Who are the best players we could bring in from Textors portfolio of clubs if he's successful in his takeover ?

Would love to see us move for Ernest Nuamah. Textor already did a bit of financial wizardry to get him to Lyon last season. Signed him for Molenbeek and then loaned straight to Lyon with an option to buy so as to make sure Lyon wouldn't overspend.

20 year old wide player and Ghana International. Came through the Right to Dream academy and won Danish superliga player of the season in his first full year at Nordsjæland.

You spout so much nonsense, although we're probably going to be limited financially, to state that Kelvin Philips is the best option available is absurd. How do you know what actual options are available? Also he was abysmal at west ham and injury prone at west very much a delph vibe

I think Bielsa, Guardiola, Moyes & Dyche know a player when they see one.

On his day...of which the last was 2020-21. Wasn't Moyes and West Ham meant to revitalise his career?

Yorkshiremen are often simple creatures. At Leeds United Philips had a purpose - he played regularly at a ground with a good working class atmosphere who appreciated his efforts.

He goes to Manchester City and that fire in his loins is quickly extinguished by no time on the pitch and a library Etihad atmosphere. He moves to West Ham United, a bowl stadium full of prawn sandwich eating tourists and he's "hammered" for being miles off the pace.

Give the boy a full pre season under a demanding manager like Dyche, playing in a stadium that can fire him up and you have the receipe for a great revival. Everything that we hoped could have been acheived with Dele Ali.

If things do not work out, its only a loan deal.

Whys that? At Leeds he was a hard working midfielder who could tackle and pass long from deep, if anything that suits Dyche down to the ground.

Bielsas style is literally the antithesis to Dyches, when Phillips was playing well for Leeds he was good in possession and could control a game from deep, Dyche simply doesn't ask that from his midfielders, the one major quality he did have that would help us was his work rate, but I have big question marks over that after his performances at WH.

He'd be lucky to get through week 1 without an injury. Then we can pay him a fortune to sit in the injury room. Maybe he can have Delph's old locker?

We would probably do this only for the prem to decide it is illegal the following year and punish us despite other clubs using it loads

Bielsa improved him considerably, he hasn't done nothing for years though, be surprised if Dyche gets a tune out of him but you never know I guess.

I think Phillips would be an astute addition. A proper Moyes type signing - fallen off at his last club City, performed poor in a West Ham side he wasn't really too well suited too, but has shown he can do it to a high standard previously.

Phillips, is one of those that will fit Dyche big time, you look at what he did for Leeds and has done for England, and if that Phillips turns up it would be a solid addition. He's fantastic without the ball, but can also be trusted with the ball too.

People need to be realistic, even when we sell players for larger sums, it's not going to be like for like replacements. Loan signings for Phillips an Harrison, if they could be sealed this early on, would be fantastic punctuality from KT.

We always moan players turn up with little to no pre-season to go, if we can get these two in now, then it would be great to know to some extent what the manager is working with, and it gives Dyche every opportunity to work with Phillips to get him seamless transitioned into the side tactically and physically.

Moyes did sign him. The dropped him cos he was rubbish

Was in for him last season before west ham but the money they wanted was to much, plus like danjuma has shown we have gone back in for players before. Is a risk is why can see us trying get him in early as talks to get city to agree to let him come here and getting him at the start of pre season to make aure he is in the right condition is key
Smacks of Dele v2 this does.
