Everton Summer 2024 Transfer Thread

Are you of the belief that the 89m loss last year is the figure that is used for PSR calculations?

Because it's not
Well someone above posted a picture saying that it will be 63 mil after allowable deductions and rounding.

If you take 63 as the average going forward then 63 x 3 = still more than 105 mil though

If 23 is 63 then that means 24 and 25 combined can’t be more than 42 which is an average of not more than 21 mil loss per season for 24 and 25

If we are currently at 63 mil loss then we need some major assistance to bring that down to 21 mil loss on average for the next two years

£63m is the loss we are allowed before deductions for PSR calculation in the coming financial year. It’s not the PSR figure.

Would have liked us to be in for the lad

I think he's a very good player.

Like Wharton, Palace are recruiting very well.

He's a decent player at Sunderland. Not sure he's ready to make an impact in prem like Wharton has. Probably the thinking is he'll be a bench player and be eased in and then eventually step up when they sell one of Eze/Olise.

Such a pity not to bring in Wharton and now seemingly Bellingham (who ive seen less of).

Could have sold Onana & Doucoure and brought the two English kids in on bargain deals :(

Was with you up to Holgate. Holgate hates playing so much he basically tries to get sent off as soon as he steps onto the pitch

Yet he was the one who asked to be loaned.

Keane just picking up wages.

we can only make a loss of 105 mil over 3 years

covid is now over, we can't use that excuse

at the moment these are our losses in the last 2 years

2023/2024: ?
2022/2023: -89.1 mil loss
2021/2022: -38.3 mil loss

we are already at a loss of £127.4 mil for the last 2 years which is 22.4 mil over the 105 mil threshold for allowable losses over a 3 year period

i don't think the club has made a profit since 2016/2017

we don't know what the club accounts will show for the 2023/2024 season however its safe to assume it won't be a profit and if anything it's likely to be a significant loss somewhere between 38.3 mil and 89.1 mil

let say the loss is around 50 mil for 23/24, that means we would need to sell players and achieve a player trading profit for somewhere in the region of around 70-80 mil to comply with PSR for the period between 2021/2022 to 2023/2024

what excuse do you believe that club can use to get away with exceeding the 105 mil loss threshold for PSR without player sales? Stadium Costs? Stadium Interest?

people forget stadium costs are not factored into PSR and the dispute over the interest was only around 4 mil or so
As we found out its only certain losses that count for PSR. The two independent commissions revealed a lot of info we didnt have on just how much counts towards PSR. In both years, it was right around 52% as we lost 228m but the league said we had PSR losses of 119m.

Therefore we need to keep losses under 202m. Combining 89.1 last year and 38.3 the year before that leave us with needing to be under 74.6 on the 23/24 books. We lost 89.1m last year, lowered wages by 12.5m, amortization by 9m, misc/payoffs by 15m, and had 20m more in player sales. Thats 56.5m lower, and we earned 6m by finishing higher up the table. Likely we have some new misc cost, so lets say conservatively we are now at -35m for 23/24, or way below that 74.6m threshold.
