Strangely with DCL it may suit both clubs to let that deal until after July 1st.
We are being told Everton are safe for PSR in this year and the sale of Godfrey will also help.
A sale of 30m or more for DCL would be a big help for our books for next year and the chance we may also sell one or two others as well. It would also help Newcastle not to have any additional purchase before June.

The only problem may be Newcastle needing to sell Minteh and we not being able to buy before the 30th..... if we are trying to sign Minted that is.

A sale now would still help next year to the same extent given it’s a rolling calculation, in fact given the likely changes to the rules a sale now likely helps for the lifespan of the current PSR.

It would still be prudent to do both before June 30 given the interest hearing. Also, what if we do Minteh then Newcastle find a reason to pull DCL, we’re screwed. Better to get pen to paper simultaneously.

Garner, Onana, McNeil would bring in a profit on what we paid if we sold them IMO. Patterson still only 22 so jury still out. And we simply don't have the money to spend on fees and wages that we did when Walsh and Brands were there, so it makes sense the squad has got worse. Prior to Thelwell coming in we were signing players already in or about to enter their peak years, on high wages, who we then made losses on and in some cases couldn't sell and simply had to wait for contracts to run down.

A while back I shared my view that I reckon we need/will try an sell £25/30m to be compliant.

Assuming Dobbin is £10m, and Godfrey is £12m, I still think we could be a little short of PSR. But I don't really know how significant Dobbin/Godfrey fees are, PSR wise.

Expecting then for us to still be a little short, I expect we'll see movement on Calvert-Lewin by 30th, or an academy player - one of the 'keepers perhaps, will move on.

I think it might be his wage which puts people off. That's what has been our stumbling block the last few years, handing out extortionate wages.

I bet Maupay is on about 70-75k when in reality he should be on around 40-45k

Same with Holgate, same with Keane.

It's only at Everton where he's not been useful.
