Everton Summer 2024 Transfer Thread

All fair mate, i just feel this is our market, established players are going to be fixer upers or lads who have lost their way - see Nidaye, Dele, Lindstrom and maybe Phillips. Then young players with potential, looking to make a step up, see Tim, Philomenge, Mintah and Gnonto.

This is our market in my opinion and have thought that for a while - so for me with every transfer we make in that market we are taking on a measure of risk. Personally i got my head around that and accepted it a while ago in terms of expectation.

I dont think we are that attractive to players at tiers beyond the above, a difficult truth to swallow but a truth none the less in my opinion.
I'm happy with the policy of young players looking to make the step up
far less risk financially and could get a quality player

Said it weeks ago that their board and fanbase will wet themselves giddy over the thought of dropping serious wedge for the next French flavour of the month. They utterly loathe English players but what do you expect when the vast majority of the fanbase aren’t English and actively hate England.
Our fanbase are similiar, happy to pay bigger money for foreign players they haven’t heard of, but look down on proven PL players.

"We won't be held to ransom by Everton - we look to France for that!"

To be fair, in this list of highest transfer fee's paid for centre backs under 19....Callum Chambers & Phil Jones being 6th & 7th might back up that thought process of staying away from PL

Yet Utd fans were fuming we wanted more than 50mil for Branthwaite
He will be even better this season and then Utd fans will be saying "Why didnt we offer what they wanted"
He should be aiming higher than Utd at the minute, that club is in freefall!

Yes they are still in the top 3 clubs in the world in terms of brand, but for footballing reasons that's one top club he should be steering away from IMO.

Agreed. Way too much drama there
He'll be in high demand if he has another season like last and like you say he may even be better
