I understand the impatience but due to PL rules we are back in the Moyes era with a very limited budget which tends to produce slow, careful decisions.

Any deal we commit to closes the door on lots of others meaning there are a ton of things to try to evaluate to ensure we maximise the combined impact of our restricted expenditure.

Hopefully Thelwell/Lampard do not fully share Moyes’ risk averse nature otherwise we might still be here on deadline day grumbling.

We’ve just sold a player for 50 million, so spending isn’t a problem. We’ve always spent pretty quickly after selling the crown jewels. See Lescott, Lukaku, etc.

Trying to sell them is probably more likely to lead to sales though. Keeping them, on the assumption that no-one will be interested, is just dense.

I am certain that the club will be working with the agents in order to get moved for Mina, Keane, Gomes and Gbamin.

Again, exactly the kind of player we should be after. Looks talented. He’s the kind of player that other teams but for £15m and then we try and buy off them a year later for £35m.

Yup. Plus at £12m he's cheap enough that even if he doesn't make it with us we can move him on for around £15m in a year's time (provided we agree a sensible wage in the first place).

Vastly more sensible choice than Dennis or Cornet, given our financial position.

…I’d think he’d be an ideal purchase in addition to the Richarlison replacement. DCL could be fragile, Simms seems to be surplus and Rondon is useless.

Selling Simms for 500k would be ridiculous business. Loan him to the championship and if he had a decent season and bangs in a few goals he’d fetch 5 million, more with a very good season. And if he flops then release and the most you’ve lost is 500k.
