Someone on here pointed out our new DOF likes 3 at the back.

I wonder if Lampard playing it since joining has been agreed from top down and thats why we are after Tarkowski?

Exactly what a DoF should do, if it's Lampard or the next manager, we need players that can fit in a system, not players for 1 manager then new players for another manager

It's how European clubs work, whoever the manager we will have consistency

Following Watford's relegation to the Championship, Ismaïla Sarr has a good chance of leaving the Hornets at the next Mercato . Indeed, the 24-year-old Senegalese international winger who arrived in 2019 for 30 million euros from Stade Rennais, will not be retained by his club in the event of an interesting offer.

And that's good, several Premier League teams are interested in Ismaïla Sarr. These include Newcastle, Everton and especially Crystal Palace. Indeed, Patrick Vieira greatly appreciates the profile of the former Rennes player.

Under contract until 2024 at Watford, Ismaïla Sarr is estimated at 27 million euros by the specialized site Transfermarkt. It should nevertheless not be sold for less than €35m. According to our information, a German club whose name has not been communicated to us is also interested in the Senegalese international.

Unlikely.

Has been pretty much woeful this season, the other guy Dennis looks the better player, but that comment is from a low base!

Kim Min-jae would be an interesting one from Fernabache, on the eye test the guy looks like a great player, massive, seems to be very switched on positionally, can pass a ball too and looks comfortable on it.

Caveat, this is purely from watching two YouTube clips and reading a couple of articles on him.

Second caveat - he's playing in a farmers league

Short breakdown, we likely need 6-7 players in this season, assuming we lose at least one starting cb and one starting forward.

2 cbs, 3 cm, 1-2 forwards

Tarkowski on a free makes sense given we likely have to be very creative with whatever finances we have, and a likely 40-50m from a sale of say DCL on top of maybe some others going which won't raise much and hopefully an early Kean permanent sale, we may have at best 80-90m to spend (I'm guessing we won't spend more than 50 of that to look good in terms of controlling ffp to an extent.

So need to be very careful how we do spend

Christ is this right, half a mil?
These figures seem to be the rough consensus.

£26m a year in wages for seven players. Those seven players have made less than forty appearances this season COMBINED.

Then consider Mina and Gomes... Another £11m per year in wages for the two of them, but fewer than 30 games combined.

There's more than one reason we're in dire financial straits.

Third caveat - his agency (the same as Oumar Niasse) has links with our good friend Kia Joorachibian

All about boxing clever - £15-20 million for Keane to WHU for example and signing Tarkowski on a free to replace him gives us leg room on the books to sign 1-2 players like we did in January with Patterson and Mykolenko and offloading Digne.

Sell Kean and bring in another player
Move on Gbamin + Gomes and bring another in.
Why would West Ham sign Keane for 10-15million?
When they can get Tarkowski on a free
