Everton Summer Transfer Thread - 2022

Add in signing players not suited to the league (Gomes, Kean, Klassan) or crocks (Delph, Mina, Gbamin) and this further compounds the issue.

Its why im sick of the boneheads in our fanbase who blame Moshiri when he's placed his wallet and trust in the hands of actual footballing men like Marcel Brands and Steven Walsh who have gotten things so so wrong.

No, I can only part agree.

The fact is, Moshiri had a huge chance to strip the club down and build it back. Efficiently, to be well driven, not have yes men or “Top Bloos”.

Moshiri loves putting his hand in the proverbial cookie jar, hence why we got Rooney.

The reality is, Moshiri could have saved himself £200-250m by simply running the club well.

Instead he let bill and his train set loose.

I've mentioned Knight in previous dispatches, would have been a typical Moyes signing back in the day. The fact that Lampard had him at Derby might be make this a goer. If we avoid relegation I'd be fully behind a firesale, we need as many as possible of the books. DCL has Arsenal written all over him, London is his calling the fashionista he is.

If Spurs came looking for Pickford I would also be all over that, Gavin Bazuna is the answer as his replacement. If Guardiola let's him leave is another matter completely, this lad is the real deal. We will save a fortune on this transaction alone.

I’ve said it for a long time.

Leicester bought players with potential, and they were hungry, wanted everything and nearly cracked the CL twice (yes, they’ve regressed this year), but the high ceiling grabs are always perfect.

Southampton and Palace to a lesser extent have done similar. Southampton going for Broja, Livramento, Salisu.
Palace picked up Guehi, Eze, Olise, Gallagher, Plange…

It’s the way to be if you’re not an extremely wealthy side.

Meanwhile we sign players who have reached their peak, their interest seemingly waning with very little resale value.

Players with potential, we move on without much fo a chance. Small, Bowler, Onyekuru, Vlasic, Lookman.

Do things like that and you find yourself recording £120.9m losses.

If we move a lot of players on and reinvest solely in the above profile of player then it fits the profiles of Lampard and Thelwell.

Its all about sales now...need to really get top dollar for some and just make sure we bin off others.

That was before James and ancelotti and his team, Bernard maybe Bolasie & Walcott, not sure if their wages would have been taken out.

So the wage bill has already dropped, Digne as well and this summer it will go again. By the summer of 2023 I expect our wage bill to be at least 50mil down on that, maybe more
£1mil a week down after this and next summer?

Brennan Johnson looks a player watching him for Wales now. We were linked last summer weren't we? Kind of young hungry player we need to look at now we can't afford more top six rejects.

We have been watching Forrest but rumoured to be Worrall, Brentford were trying to get him in January.

Brennan at Forest,Knight at Derby there are others as well.
This is a market we should be looking at.

Knight wouldn’t cost much, a year left and relegated to div 1 will drop the price even
More. He nearly left for 8mil in January. And Frank had him in his squad at 18
For the play off semi v Leeds

Bazunu looks like a very good keeper. With City they may sell but with a release clause or there could be a long term loan to be done for 2-3 years which could enable us to sell Pickford e g £40mil and use the money on other positions.

Its a good plan to look at the likes of Johnson and Knight etc in the championship.

How about France as well? Just to throw this out there, if we did make some big sales this is whats available in France + plenty more ive not mentioned as well;

Hugo Ekitike: Close to joining Newcastle for £33mil + bonuses. Only turning 20 in June, 6'2 and scores a goal every 2 games at centre forward.

Amine Gouiri: Can play up front or cutting inside from the left. Technically another level from what weve seen in years (bar James) and seen as the next Benzema.

Aurelien Tchouameni: Now a 22 year old French international at Monaco who is built like a monster. Someone who would be comfortable if we play 2 in midfield.

Boubakar Kamara: Another 22 year old who has moved into defensive midfield having previously played at centre back. Quick and a solid all round player.

Benoit Badiashile: Left footed centre back who captains France u21s. Just turned 21 a couple of days ago, athletic, mobile and a beast.

People are quite negative on who we could attract but we are:

A premier league team

We can pay good wages

Lampard has developed kids into top internationals

We could be seen as a stepping stone for some.

There are players in England, France, Germany, Holland, Belgium, Spain etc that not every top club can sign...

We aren’t signing a £30m+ unproven striker from Reims

Interesting to see Richarlison also linked with Arsenal.

With Edu being their technical director I wonder if this may have more legs than DCL.

A dodgy site is saying us and West Ham wanted to sign Tete from Shakhtar but hes moving to Southampton.

22 year old left footed Brazilian right winger...someone ive mentioned in here before.

Hopefully he joins us and not Southampton.

33m deal for Ekitike is the type of signing we can't risk, too many variables, language barrier, while he settle in England. The Monaco lad looks a player and b exactly the type of signing we need, but fully capped now so adds millions to his value. Unless it's low fees and we buy on potential I can't see Lampard taking a pint. Young lads not being giving a chance at Chelsea and a City will be our market along with championship players.
