Everton Summer Transfer Thread - 2022

Jason knight of Derby is a player I think we should be interested in, he plays central midfield for Derby, a very capable player already although just 21 and has several full caps for Ireland. He is going to get a lot better and is out of contract in 2023 so he should be affordable.
Good shout that. They have a few good youngsters in their midfield. Sibley is decent too. I think by the sound of it, the jury is out on Max Bird. Awesome porn name that.

We definitely are. We have too many poor defenders, can't defend set-pieces, lack pace, power, creativity, a ball carrier and basic passing ability in the middle, have one goalscorer and no-one to supply him. A recipe for disaster.

It's all opinions, but in mine, only Bournemouth (and maybe Saints) have a definitively worse squad than ours. It's both embarrassing and terrifying given what we shelled out.
But the window is still open and we have already improved our defence massivley. So, no, until the window is closed we are an unknown entity.

If you figure it out, can you let me know how to get paid to chat nonsense on GoT? I've been doing it for free for about a year now and feel I've missed a trick.
I think it's 5 Moshiribucks for every hundred posts by newbies, then when you get to the GOT £70m member level it's payment in KenwrightDabloons or you can swap for a Denise NFT and signed photo of Speedo Mick, as I understand it?!...

You cant sell Batman, hes the only Striker you have that isnt Timo Whoops ive Missed an Open goal Again.

He actually did ok in Turkey on loan and is only 28.
Strangley enough the majority of Chelsea supporters love Timo and yes he misses so many but he really does give it his all and at some point it’s just possible that he will start to put them away

Dithering Dave used to frustrate me no end, but in hindsight I can see he was being prudent with limited resources and wanting to know all about a player's personalty and character and temprament before signing them. No idea if we are doing that now under Lamps, but in recent years it honestly feels like we've just pulled names out a hat or played some sort of wild bingo game resulting in utterly random mishmash of transfers at 20/30/40m a pop.
Let's hope he's being prudent rather than clueless.

Well he got his excuse if he decides to walk
No way on earth would Lamps walk. He want's to be a Prem manager, there's only 20 possible jobs, he currently has one despite not really knowing where his true level is (lot of space between 6th placed Derby in the second division and UCL with Chelsea). His time here could be make or break for him in terms of how he is viewed longterm. Needs to stay put in one job for a few years, show what he can do, build his reputation as a bonafide manager not a stopgap.

Otherwise where would be next? Norwich? Fulham? Saints? Celtic? Wont be a City / RS / ManU type club that's for sure.

More importantly, we need players out.
Agree, but it's easier said than done. Nobody in their right mind is going to want to pay much -if anything- for the likes of Gbamin, Gomes, Holgate, Rondon etc. Even if they did have takers, they might want to sit tight and pick up their inflated wages to contract end.

For this reason, I fully expect us to start the season with an almost identical squad/lineup to what we finished last one with.
