Everton Summer transfers 2021

I think if we can offload a couple of players like Kean and James we may well see some movement in terms of first team signings. Desperately need a decent RB.

There's a train of thought that possibly we're in for higher end players who top clubs have to sell and those players are waiting till last minute to see what choices they have?

Clutching I know
It’s not the craziest suggestion. We know Inter need to sell so let’s say we were in for one of theirs and Inter have told him they’re going to accept any bids over x amount and we’ve bid that.
If you’ve just won Serie A and played in the Champions League you’re probably not well up for playing for Everton right now so you’d wait out your options until the last minute hoping someone better comes along.

Please sign Longstaff and Rondon; it would complete the transformation to Evergeordies

They are underwhelming signings but, playing devil's advocate for a minute, would Rondon offer less than what Kean has for us in his time here or what Josh King did at the back end of last season? I can see the logic of him for a year or so

Longstaff - not sure really. Genuinely haven't watched enough of him to comment, but having read a bit about him in the last day or two it seems like he's capable of playing as a number 6 more than some of the other players we have at the club and Benitez did seem to get some good form out of him. Feels like a bit of a punt though, have to admit.

How can we possibly be in for them if we can't afford.
well we're trying to loan Dumfries and McNeil is a target if we get the funds.

Basically, if we sell Kean and/or James, we get McNeil.

We can't afford both him and Dumfries unless others go on top, I guess, so we'd have to get creative and try and get a loan with obligation to buy for Dumfries. But in all likelihood, PSG will want a fee up front.

If you followed that logic you would never sign a player because of the risk.
Only a few clubs can afford to buy proven quality players all the time....we are not one of them,

We do have a number of players that have kept their value like Keane,Minard,, Doucoure.

We also have a number whose value have increased substantially such as Pickford, Godfrey,Digne,DCL,Richarlison.
We also have some young players such as Nkounkou and Branthwaite who may prove to be very good players.

We have also sold some at a profit such as Lookman ,Gueye,Vlasic.

In particular the recruitment of Koeman was child in a sweet shop levels and I think that Allyrdyce bought two players , spent a lot of money and both were poor value... which to me is a surprise because I would have thought he would have been shrewd in the transfer market and would have left at least one positive legacy.
Tosun started well at Everton, but deteriorated as the team got worse. Walcott was a good pro, a little bit past his best when we got him, but did well enough apart from his finishing. He was our best out ball after DCL, and when he wasn't playing DCL found himself drifting to the wing to recieve from Pickford or whoever.
