The issue for me, it screams “guess how we’ll be playing”. No plan B, well there is but it’s the same as Plan A with Rondon up top looking for knock downs or crosses into the boxThey are underwhelming signings but, playing devil's advocate for a minute, would Rondon offer less than what Kean has for us in his time here or what Josh King did at the back end of last season? I can see the logic of him for a year or so
Longstaff - not sure really. Genuinely haven't watched enough of him to comment, but having read a bit about him in the last day or two it seems like he's capable of playing as a number 6 more than some of the other players we have at the club and Benitez did seem to get some good form out of him. Feels like a bit of a punt though, have to admit.
I wasn’t a fan of King, thought he was massively overrated (mainly by the same people who spout crap on here) but he was under utilised by Ancelotti, and he would have offered something different in some games.
Longstaff is bad IMO; he’s no better than what we have. It’s just screams of another Townsend signing as in a trusted man next to the manager
