Im going off other peoples opinions whove watched him. If they say he was the standout then im not sure why i wouldnt believe that.

The planning/profile thing of players on our lists (from what we can gather) baffles me, Zat.

I've mentioned this before, but even with Godfrey, it's a bit mad. We wanted (and nearly got) Gabriel, a left-footed centre-back. We ended up with Godfrey, a right-footed player who had often played right side of the defence for Norwich too. Now I'm perfectly happy we have Godfrey, but even that isn't the same profile (and we still badly lack a left-footed CB, unless they are going to trust Branthwaite - which is fine)

Fullily enough Branthwaites old manager said he was right footed -- though I think we all assumed he was left footed lol

High potential with Nkounkou, Branthwaite and possibly Patterson in the defensive part of the squad. Would be good to see.

As you say though, bizarre how our targets go from one profile to the opposite. Makes you wonder if we dont get Patterson will we go for a 30+ year old

But Coleman isn't good enough to be 1st choice all season - and if he is first choice we finish mid table and if we finish mid table you all will want Benitez's head.

But the manager (youre backing) wants this signing.

Your ego is bruised because Benitez has made you look silly for crying all summer about the club losing its "soul" and "we're getting relegated with a Kopite at the wheel" oh and "how can we ever hope to get a point without James on the pitch".

Benitez hasn't been backed one bit this summer lets call a spade a spade - Brands is chasing some kid for buttons because we missed out on an actual proper replacement for Coleman in Dumfries.

I'll be vindicated when you're all crying in 5+ games time that Coleman cant cross a ball or make a simple pass and the usual "his legs have gone" comments after the Martials and Sterlings of the world rinse him as usual.

It makes zero sense - this was a signing that would have made sense 2-3 seasons ago as an understudy to Coleman not now when we need an instant replacement even if its a loan with an option to buy or whatever.

He would’ve been 16 then, so way too young.?
