Scotland are gash mate Steven Naismith was their talisman in recent years gone by.

Being stand in RB for them is hardly anything to shout about any more than it is to be stand in for a Moldova/Albania.
Scotland are not as gash now. They are on the rise and have some good young players, of which this lad is one. They have no decent strikers which is their biggest problem. But this young lad to rotate with Coleman would be a great move for us.

How hard is this? Signing a rb is not this hard. They have done this on purpose as they have been happy with Coleman in this position, how did Leeds sign Raphinha?

I do share the concern that a lad who has played fewer than 20 games for Rangers would be ready to come in straight away for us, though.

Again, it's the issue with the place we've left ourselves in. A signing like this is fine if the plan was to phase Coleman out slowly. But that should have happened two-three years ago so that they'd get the time when they needed to learn and drop in and out of the side.

Now we genuinely do need starting-level quality. Maybe he is that, I don't know, but it is a worry (and it's all the fault of the recruitment department).
What would you have said if we bought Livramento in the summer, or had bought Lamptey last summer? Something similar probably.

Still early days with the former but it's looking good so far, and you can't argue with Lamptey's impact last season before he got injured.

And this is where I just cant agree mate. Im not bothered how highly rated a player is unless you are coming in to replace Seamus Coleman not rotate/understudy him then I dont want them quite frankly.

Our fans did the same last season when Coleman started off well and give it a few more games and they'll be saying the same as they have done for the past 3 seasons that he needs replacing.

the magical thing called scouts in Europe, which we apparently have - yet to see proof of such

Which of the following will go:
James - wants to go, club wants him to go
Kean - wants to go, club wants him to stay
Kenny - free to go if we can sign a rb
Gomes - seems to not be in any plans
Delph - played yesterday but surely free to go
Tosun - broken and sadly going nowhere

My guess is 3 of the top 4 go.

Yeah I agree, I just hope we don't let James or Kean go on loan and get no money for them. Kenny probably will go on loan, no ones mad enough to pay for him

….well, the indication is he didn’t want Dumfries. If we’ve bid for Patterson I can only assume he actually prefers Patterson to Dumfries.

We couldn't afford Dumfries mate.

Anyone who looks at the accounts knows why we are signing freebies and players for buttons and its not down to some Benitez fantasy of wanting to know what it was like to be EFC manager under the Kenwright Era lol

True mate.

We'd have to pay a fair whack for the lad still, so we'll see won't we.

I don't think it'd have been the idea for a lot of people heading into this window though.
