Rangers need a sale having bottled the CL qualification. Seems to me they want Everton to bid more. I wouldn't be surprised if we have moved on to a new target. I dont think we will be in a big bidding war for him.

We cant really mate. Look at what we spent so far on two PL battle hardened players: £1.5M....and Eddie Munster wants £10M or £15M for a kid who he wont put in his first team!!!

I've just watched Hickey's Bologna Vs Salernitana. He started btw. A fabulous game. 3-2 to Bologna. All out attack both sides. Most Italian games these days are. It's a superb league to watch. The style of play is nothing like what many attribute to the old days of snoozing to the channel 4 live games on the Sunday. Sorry for going off topic.

How did he play?

I saw him very early on when at Hearts and wanted Everton to get him.

He was ok mate. Got hooked at around 60 mins, but that was more down to them having a man sent off. I actually had booked to go over and see him play Vs fiorentina in march of last year but obviously things stopped that happening. He must be the most unlucky Scottish player in history. Having KT and Robertson ahead of you is tough, although he's a fantastic young talent. I'd put Patterson considerably above him though.

Just as an aside all these young Scottish talents coming through btw is due to mark wotte, a Dutch coach, ex Ajax, who was employed by the SFA as head of development. He developed a system, similar to The Netherlands where players were educated at specially selected schools whereby they would train pre lessons, during breaks and after, every day. Dietary specialists brought in as well as a requirement to achieve certain grades. It's why so many like hickey, Patterson and Gilmour are coming through at the same time. It's a ripe market up here just now.

Reading between the lines on Patterson: this info on the bid on Friday has to have come from Rangers. They must be trying to get attention for the player and get him sold.

All the talk from Gerrard that the bid is derisory is something you dont do if you're locked into negotiations with a club for more cash.

He might well leave Rangers, but I doubt it'll be to Everton. That's bad faith by Rangers if it were an ongoing situation.

Unless you know you need to sell and want to get more interest, as you are risking losing the player for a lower fee than you need.
