He was ok mate. Got hooked at around 60 mins, but that was more down to them having a man sent off. I actually had booked to go over and see him play Vs fiorentina in march of last year but obviously things stopped that happening. He must be the most unlucky Scottish player in history. Having KT and Robertson ahead of you is tough, although he's a fantastic young talent. I'd put Patterson considerably above him though.

Just as an aside all these young Scottish talents coming through btw is due to mark wotte, a Dutch coach, ex Ajax, who was employed by the SFA as head of development. He developed a system, similar to The Netherlands where players were educated at specially selected schools whereby they would train pre lessons, during breaks and after, every day. Dietary specialists brought in as well as a requirement to achieve certain grades. It's why so many like hickey, Patterson and Gilmour are coming through at the same time. It's a ripe market up here just now.

If he thinks 10m will get him chance to build his squad and win more trophies he will sell.

He will be setting himself up for the Liverpool job and if he sells this kid to build a better squad then he will do that.

Well it does. You say you'd pay £10m+ for Hickey but not Patterson because of a perceived pedigree advantage I've proven to not even be there.

Unless you know you need to sell and want to get more interest, as you are risking losing the player for a lower fee than you need.

He's putting the player in the shop window and he's used an enquiry from Everton to hand him the excuse.

I know he's a LB, but I thought Hickey looked like he might turn into a ball carrying CB.

7 or 8 million with add ons would probably, do it. The Scottish teams can't turn down that kind of money, I doubt we leak this if we aren't confident. There's been barely any links since Dumfries beyond that Buta who I am not sure we are even in for.

Mate, I'd advise having a look at the follow follow page, Rangers' biggest fans forum. I'm no fan of Rangers but a connoisseur of Scottish football and I can assure you this boy is the real deal, the comments on there will reassure you that slippy G would be gutted if we get him in. He's almost universally agreed up here to be the best prospect at right back for many, many years.
