Everton Summer transfers 2021

If I’ve read this correctly, last year £39m of our losses where due to stadium developement costs, which this year can be moved around the accounts as we now have planning permission.
also says an additional £16m in this years account (to June 21) would have been affected in a similar way.

Possibly one for the stadium thread rather than transfers but as it affects FFP etc….
I doubt very much if the Stadium is being build by the same legal/financial entity that the the Club's FFP is being based off.
Why would they do that? It would cripple us.
It will be being built by a Holding Company who will lease it to the Club on a 100 year contract for a pound a year.
Standard practise to isolate both entities from each other.

That's not the point we're very short in a few positions and haven't addressed these issues having spent virtually nothing when we desperately need these needed to make signings and didn't.

I don't see the upside in spending no money and ending up with no RB/LB and RW/LW cover

We don't desperately need anything though do we?

In the grand scheme of things! We are ok!

Correct.... until a Left /Right back or central midfielder gets injured or suspended. Then we will have to play the same "squad" players, in the same positions that caused our season to fall apart when it happened last year, and the year before.

In and around 40 mill can be adjusted mate.

We can also adjust for youth development, women's football and community activities and Covid losses over the period.

Our losses have been:

2017/18 was £13 million.
2018/19: 111 million
2019/20: 139 million

20/21 we wont know until Dec - they will be added to 19/20 to get an average/mean figure due to Covid - its the summer of the Carlo spending, so a further adding to the wage bill.

The above figures aren't adjusted - but you can see we are sailing very close to the wind with a good a chance as not that we are in breach, even allowing for BMD, womens football, Community development and youth football. The threshold we have to meet is 105 million.

The other thing this summer may not be anomaly. We loose 17/18 next year - which is by far our smallest loss, 18/19 & 19/20 & 20/21 - will still be relevant to us. I know people will look and think we didn't sign anyone this summer - the problem isn't transfer fees - its wages and amortisation.

I'm not so sure. Different mentality being displayed so far by the players, whether that will last who knows. I think part of the problem last year was Ancelotti who in my opinion did not give a toss as he knew he was temporary until a better opportunity came along. The current Manager will run a tighter ship for sure

We have the Bundesliga August Rookie of the Month to step in in Seamus gets injured! Look at the other players that have won that award, in fine company

We won our first 7 games last season. How was our mentality then?
Injuries to Allan, Doucoure, and to a lesser extent DCL, plus getting his safe nicked form his house and daughter threatened did for us last year.

None of this revisionist Carlo waiting for a better opportunity fiction.

You have obviously never seen him play.
Celtic fans could wait to see the back of him last year.
Yes thats very true, not the first player to struggle at a team like Celtic for one reason or another.

Barely got given an opportunity after a good loan spell in the Bundesliga........... the odd game here and there dosent really help you get your confidence back at all! You never know!

So now your best Right Back replacement option is down you "He might be good, you never know?"

Great way to run a club mate.
