I agree.

I'm honestly confused why given this we have any desire to sign a CB. Sell Mina to sign someone supposedly better is very FIFA career mode like.

All the more reason to not to keep Keane AND Mina as well, should Koulibaly come on board. We wouldn't be able to afford Godfrey's next pay rise if all three of the others are still at the club. Godfrey is nailed on to the starting 11 next season. Koublibly is a media distraction for me. Just smells like a red herring to throw other clubs off our targets. If it happens okay, great but I wouldn't throw the kitchen sink in trying to land him on the squad.

My main concern is our midfield which has been dire for too long now. I look at Iwobi and Gomes and see a four cylinder engine with no room for growth. Our other players James, Doucoure and Allen haven't been able to stay fit this season, which puts the Carlos selection into sixes and sevens. Don't think I need to mention gbamin but hopefully the worst is behind him now. That leaves Tom Davies and Siggurdsson as the two players Ancelotti can depend on week in/week out. Davies has improved significantly this season while Glyfi has also picked up his form from last season but he's a rotational/squad player now at 31. If anything we need to sort this area out ASAP.

Back up Goalie, new Right Back, Right Wing/back up Striker are all positions we know need improving too.

At least 5 in this summer hopefully.

Yeah currently 5 seems the minimum.

And even they will depend on Outs.

Kenny - RB
Olsen - GK
King - ST
Bernie - RW
Delph - CM

Anybody else we can shift will be a big brucie bonus, but they would need replacing, like for like.

I know the likes of Walcott, Bolasie, Besic are getting shifted and whilst it will be huge wages saving they currently arent taking any "space" in the squad.

The reaction here to a player like Lingard shows exactly why nothing on here should be taken seriously.

Most ordinary supporters have an opinion on a player based on just about everything bar his football ability. Tom Davies is the classic case in point Rabid criticism of him until his displays were so good they couldn't be criticized so they keep quiet until he has a poor performance and then back they com

Lingard,I think, has a face it is hard to like.
I don't think anybody expected him to do as well as he has but he has always had two traits we could do with

Pace and the ability to score.

Thankfully, any transfers in or out will have nothing to do with fans opinion

It’s about not defending so deep, which Ancelotti has said is Mina and Keane s strength. Those possession stats were poor and is a consequence of conceding the park to the opposition. Godfrey can play much higher up the park but has no one to partner him. The conclusion, we need another Godfrey.

if we push further up the park, won’t that directly benefit the whole team?

You still have to be good at it

Our squad is still so bloated we can afford to get rid of plenty of our players and not miss them.

Olsen and Virginia out - GK to challenge/usurp Pickford in.
Kenny out - RB in.
Delph, Besic, and even Gomes out - CM in.
Bernard, Bolasie and Walcott out - RM in.
King, Tosun and Kean out - CF in.

That’d be 12 out, 5 in, for example, and we’d be much better off.
 

I'm guessing if we're signing a right winger, we're assuming Richarlison is going to play on the left when this player plays?

Well ive used the squad we have now, so the 1s not at the club haven't been a factor.

But yeah, we can afford to let a lot go without replacing, but we submitted a 24 player squad this season and that's the bare min of what we need.
