Wouldn't be gutted if we got Wijnaldum and Dann both solid players, Wijnaldum reminds me very much of Piennar.

Better player out there, yes. We need to replace a lot of dead wood and i would definitely not be upset if we got them, decent players and would do a good job.

Agree but Wijnaldum isn't a Pienaar type player.

He's more of an attacking central player who can also play wide left, but doesn't really link play and isn't a playmaker as such.

If anything, he's a lot more akin to Cahill.

Would definitely be an excellent signing, though, for the right price. Would definitely boost the number of goals we get from midfield!

Aye, i probably don't mean positional wise, but he is attacking and keeps the play ticking over - probably more talented infront of goal then Pienaar so take the Cahill comparison.

He is talented, for the right price would prove to be a very useful signing.

yeh. He's decent enough on the ball and can play anywhere in midfield, but isn't a 'creative' type really - like you said more of a finisher and he's excellent on the counter-attack because of his pace.

The fume from elsewhere when we start spending some money will be amazing.

I can't wait hahaha - loads of people reckon Moshiri is going to make a splash with his spending, but the fact he wants a high profile big signing as part of that too.

Imagine the fume....

its going to be sensational.

Seen him for Holland in the last world cup playing deep in the middle 2 in a 4-2-3-1 formation, in my opinion looks alot better there and can show his range of passing, although dosent offer much of a sheild for the defence

Hatred of dutchies for germans is way overplayed; it's a relic of past generations. In intenational football sure they are our traditional rival, but that's as far as it goes. Most people my age generally have a favourable opinion of Germany. There would be no issue with bringing in German transfers.

Cheers mate, asbolutely no idea on the current lay of the land so the response was enlightening

How do you rate Ziyech and Janssen btw? reckon we will be in for them, can they do a job at the top level and how much would they go for?

Mata's been underwhelming sine joining United and Rooney's past it. I know we've finally got money to spend but I think we can make shrewder signings than them two.

Mata - 26 goals and 20 assists in 104 games for United, with probably about a third/fourth of them being sub appearances isn't underwhelming in my eyes mate, a goal or assist every 2 games nearly, playing for a United side that has most definitely NOT been playing to his strengths and has been ultra defensive is a fantastic return

Hope If we do go for a couple of Big name signings to make a statement that we also surround that with some quality 'bargain' signings, both Ziyech and Janssen seem to fit into that catagory

IF Lukaku does go, would like to see us bring in someone with huge upside like Janssen for not a ridiculous fee and then a proven premier league scorer like Giroud which covers us in case Janssen struggles, - wouldn't say no to grabbing Mitrovic on the cheap either - very raw but had a year in the league now, is really young and certainly has a bit of fight in him compared to the rest of that Newcastle team

If you could pick Mitrovic up for 10m, Janssen for 15-20m and same for Giroud 15m, then could have the three of them for around 45m - not a bad option IF we do sell Lukaku for the rumoured 65m like, one young but raw player whose had a decent first season in the league, one very highly touted young dutch international and one very proven good level proven striker in the league

Janssen was mentioned by one of the saints fans wasn't he, saying if Koeman comes to us he is likely to go straight in for him.

Would be brilliant if we could get him.

Think him and Ziyech both got said by saints fans that he would be after them straight away

Rather we took a risk with those two than go for the likes of Wijnaldum who got slated by Newcastle fans for the last 4 months of the season or depay or similar as soon as theyve played in this league youve already missed the chance to get them cheaper

Just hoping that the rumours of a large amount to spend 'before' any outgoings are factored in is true really, being able to spend 10-15m on a player like those would normally represent our entire budget and if they failed wed be screwed, now they could represent the second tier of signing ofr us which we make a few off, IF the rumours from a few itk's about having 'statement' signings on our to do list are to be believed (somethign the HArt bid does support tbh)
