Everton Transfer Thread 2016

He is a good keeper - i have no doubt about that, i remember watching one of his saves and thinking he would win points by himself if he had a half decent defence infront of him.

Its ridiculous the talent the Germans have in the GK department - its just not fair really, even more so on some of them having Neur infront of them.
Why are we talking about RS signings?

Michael Keane of Burnley and Lewis Dunk of Brighton mentioned on Sky Sports.
Well, not exactly what I hoped for...

Neither of them are glamour signings. However Keane's numbers are very good. I've also watched Dunk and he is impressive, big lad and dominant in the air but does lack a yard of pace.

then work your way down..

Who's that?

So risky buying from the Dutch league so many prolific scorers there have flopped massively when they've left.

Janssen does look a talent, but Luuk De Jong was only one goal behind him last season with 26 goals and he looked absolutely dog turn in his brief spell with Newcastle where he couldn't hit a barn door.

He's since scored for fun again for PSV since he returned to Holland.

Another reason to be careful, Dirk Kuyt, yes him, at 36 wasn't too far behind on 19!

The Dutch league is a very funny league as they seem to be very hit and miss. I remember Kezman and Van Nistlerooy leaving at a similar time and their fortunes were almost opposites despite having similar records.

Even recently there are some horror stories their, but there are also Eriksen, Vertonghen, Alderweireld who have all come from the Dutch league and excelled.

I managed to sign Jasper Cillessen on Football Manager for 7m. He has been very good so far.

Yeh true, along with the other 10 players.

For what it's worth - at no point during the season did I think he was performing any worse than other players at the time - is maybe the better way of putting it.

He definitely made mistakes, and we got punished for them, but it happens.
Here's something that might help to put the Stones' dilemma into context. I consider myself a competent driver, including driving large vans. Yesterday I went out in a Mercedes Sprinter with an Advanced Driving instructor as part of Argos's stringent vetting procedures before taking people on. I knew he was going to be trouble when he told me I didn't have to indicate when pulling out as there were no vehicles in front or behind (I always indicted when pulling out, regardless). It was like having my (1st) wife sitting beside me. He didn't so much as watch me and take notes, he told me what to do way before I needed to do it "Get into the box, you're turning right here"...."Let him go" (a car that had already pulled out across me!) and such. It got to the point where I was unable to concentrate properly. Had I had an instructor who just told me to drive to my best ability I would have sailed through the test.

Maybe not a proper comparison, but you get my drift.

Well, not exactly what I hoped for...

I watch Brighton every other week or so, since they are my local side, and I have a few mates who are Brighton fans. Lewis Dunk is a very good Championship defender, but I'm not sure if he could make the step up to a Premier League club. Seems to have a few mistakes in him.

GOD I want Stones to stay so badly. Please John. Captain our new era of utter bossness.

His head might have been turned by Pep going to city and obviously the utter calamity of a season we had under Martinez, but and its a massive but, Koeman is probably one of, if not the player of the modern era that Stones should aspire towards.

Hopefully the first meeting between them involves Ronald showing him a highlights DVD of his career followed by these words:

"So John that's who I am, the question is who do you want to be?"

He'd be an absolute idiot to leave for city or anyone else.

Brilliant, I signed Ibrahima Bakayoko on Premier Manager 98 and he was better than Ronaldo and Messi combined!

However in real life he was poor. I dont think you can always judge players by football games....
