Anyone else feeling not that arsed with buying centre mids? We have Barry, McCarthy, besic, cleverley and Davies, who can all play there. We have that many spots to improve Surely left midfield, goalkeeper and upfront are priority. Don't think we'll be able to solve every problem in one transfer window. Personally i think better coaching and conditioning should improve centre mid enough till next summer

Old and needs replacing sooner rather than later. Overrated and bang average. Promising but not first team week in week out ready. Good squad player, but won't ever be a starter. Youngster who is still developing and nowhere near ready yet.

We definitely need to address CM.

Very arsed, our centre mid creates nothing and scores nothing and isn't even that good at providing cover for the defence, if Koeman has seen the need to upgrade their then he has a big positive tick right off the bat

Hmm fair enough. I suppose new mangers like their own players centre defence and midfield to stamp their own identity on a team. Think people just need to be cautious that were going to buy umpteen top drawer player's even with 100 million
 

I guess the one thing is... if Strootman rumour has any legs, he won't be signing without doing a medical. We won't sign someone who's crocked for 30m or even 10m. The good news is that in his periods between injuries he looked the same player as he was before joining Roma.

I'll just trust the club on this one if there's any truth to it.

Slimani: £25m (release clause)
Witsel OR Strootman: £30m
Draxler: £30m
Horn: £7m (release clause)

Total: £92m

Witsel or Strootman in the midfield partnering whichever of McCarthy or Besic step their game up. Draxler on the left. Slimani to join Rom as our strikeforce and be Koeman's new Pelle and Long.

Sure a couple of people will balk at the £30m evaluations but I'm fairly sure that's basically what a 'very good' player costs these days.

Would very happily have Ziyech on the left instead if he can play there but not sure he would.
 

On the plus side, if we signed Axel Witsel, all the stallholders selling merchandise outside Goodison can dust off the 100 boxes of Felliani afro wigs in their loft space and make a fortune! lol

I wouldn't want us paying even half of that to be honest. Couldn't imagine anything other than him massively flopping over here.
