Everton Transfer Thread 2016

Sigurdsson is a good honest Premiership footballer, he is no world beater. When Spurs started their push for top four they off loaded him, I think that is very telling. Let's all be honest; when we heard that there was £100 mill in the transfer pot would any of us have been enthused by the thought of spending 25% of it on Sigurdsson.
Mata is a much better player and would be a much better acquisition for us.

Proper lol at the belters thinking Sigurdsson isn't decent. Some of you should come away from computer games and move into the real world.

Does every player have to be a worldy? For some of you, waking up every day must be a long drawn out disappointment.
This

People crying "I expected bigger signings than this"..."hardly the marquee signing I was expecting.."

If we sign him, it would just be a good signing, not our only one and not our biggest one either.

Chill out man, sound like spoilt brats

siggurdson be a great player for us.

My only concern with him is that the only time he stands out as a important player is when he is at swansea. Almost like that is his level, and when he stepped up to spurs he kinda got lost in the better players there.

So yeah, is he a great player, or is he a great player for a mid table club?

ALso where did the sigurdsson thread go?!

He was played out wide while at Spurs mate. At Swansea his preferred position that is CAM. He would be a good signing for us. And it never hurts having two quality CAM :)

Sigurdsson is every bit as good as Mata in terms of effectiveness, goals and assists. But, because he comes from Iceland and not Spain, and doesn't have a beard and Premier League winner's medal, people think he's half the player Mata is. Give me Gylffi over Mata any day! Somebody mentioned it before and it is absolutely true: Mata would look at a move to Everton as a step down, whereas Sigurdsson would think the opposite and likely step his game up even more. He is the perfect age, a great professional and technically superbl. What's not to like?

The FIFA generation - the stats on their Xbox/Playstation say "player x" is not a good signing, so fume about it when we're linked. Then come up with a list of obscure names who are good enough. Thankfully we have a team of professionals at the club who are recruiting the correct way.

Mata's assist record in the top leagues is far far better than Sigurdsson mate, almost double the rate per game

Also Mata doesn't have a premier league winners medal either
