*holds up hand.
Preseason has gone exactly as I expected.
Don't appreciate you calling me a liar though
I meant off the pitch.

If someone had told me it was the end of July and our transfer business consisted of a Championship reserve goalie I would have laughed in your grid.

I bet it's not how Koeman pictured it either.

It's certainly not ideal no.
Will wait come Spurs and September before casting any final judgements. Sometimes good things take time.
Sometimes they just don't happen at all.

Kevin Mirallas is our "marquee new signing"

We will sell Lukaku and Stones on the last week of the window and not even replace them - all money will go to a new stadium in Runcorn!

Everton aren't we?

all this money talk was obviously to sell season tickets. the fact that this 100m has not seen light of day suggests moshri doesnt have it. our maquee signing will be skeltenburg

Optimist view: we sign Witsel, Carvalho, Mata, Koulibaly and Begovic while also shedding some less useful players.

Pessimist view: we get none of those and lose Stones (city), Rom (Chelsea), Del (Barca) and Funes Mori (Roma) while managing to hold onto McGeady, Kone and Niasse.

Reality will be in between. While I am hopeful that multiple people on the optimist side of the ledger sign, I think rumors about Gueye, Sigurdsson, Williams and the like suggest we are preparing for the possibility they do not, as is only proper.

It is if we cannot get our primary targets that Walsh will really earn his money. If plan "a" players don't sign by week one expect a hard push for plan "b" players, while contact begins to be made with the plan "c" group.

While I am as frustrated (and yes concerned) as the rest I don't think one can look at the window and say we are not showing ambition. We spent about 6-7 million on a manager and director of football and are now fighting with Chelsea, Juventus and Napoli for players. Competing with those clubs off of the field was never going to be simple - it is not ALL about money. Our recent history works against us.

It's certainly not a dull period to support our club!

2 harsh reality.

1. It's harder than we expect for securing the signature of big names like Witsel.

2. It looks much harder to get rid of our deadwoods.

Tick tock 2 weeks till kick-off.
