Why's that a problem - horses for courses mate.

It'll work against some teams, and against others we'll have to have a different tact.

it is very predictable. Plus come 10 + games into the season, if we started with a fast player up top you would then automatically expect us to do that making it easier to defend against

Mate, I know it's been said, but Leicester won the bloody league using the same tactic.

Now, I'm not saying we're going to use it all the time, but clearly Koeman likes variation - as does Walsh.

Look at Southampton last year, with Long in for some games, Pelle for others and sometimes both.

Del can do a stint there but mainly on the counter as he can only really run in behind, whereas a player who is a natural striker (Perez) can vary his game a bit more due to the experience of playing the position.

Simply incredible. Take yer misery blinkers off mate. And the rest of the warchest denial brigade.

Let me spell it out for ya...

Spent:
£85m investment in club shares
£10m to sack Martinez
£5m to buy Koeman
£3m to buy Walsh
£20m to buy land for new stadium
£25m for Bolasie
£7m for Gana
£12m for Williams
So far...

Incoming:
£47.5m for Stones

Rough net investment by Moshiri to date before bids we know of (another 20-25m?), potential last day transfer dealings and before accounting for Sky money...

£120m.

Shoot me down if it's not penny perfect, but you get the gist.

You know full well that is was everywhere in the media that the manager would have £100 million available for players.

Personally I never believed it, so am not going to cry about it, but it's very easy to see why people are a bit underwhelmed with the way summer has gone.

Going the same way as Ghezzal?

Basically it says he's rejected us also as we're not in Europe..

Distraught here lads - it's all over because Fichajes from Spain said so.

Btw it doesn't say he has even rejected us. It's speculating he'll reject us because we aren't in Europe (Neither are Deportivo), we're offering to double his wages and give him a 4-year deal in a side who will give him better service and don't fight relegation every year.

No it doesn't mate - it says that a news agency has suggested that this (no European footy) might be a key thing for him in his decision, and so is a potential reason for him to reject us. It doesn't say he has already rejected us, and it's just conjecture by the newspaper.

He's just reporting what a radio station is saying mate - not that it's fact.

Translated the tweets read:

"LUCAS - Aim RADIO MARCA CORUÑA that a key to reject the British offer could be Everton factor will not play in Europe."

"LUCAS - Aim RADIO MARCA CORUÑA that offer Everton (2M and 4 years) is better than the offer of renewal of Dépor (1M and 7 years)."

"LUCAS - Informa RADIO MARCA CORUÑA Everton would pay Proviso and a chip to 2 million net player more bonuses for goals."

"LUCAS - Informa Alberto Gómez Barros in Al Primer Toque ONDA CERO Everton offer the 20 million clause for Depor 7."

Everyone is calm at the moment because we've just beat West Brom and Yeovil.

People will quickly change their tune when we lose a few games. The squad isn't good enough as things stand, I worry about the season ahead personally.

And it's not even him speculating - it's him quoting somebody on radio Marca who was speculating haha

Leiscter also sat back in their half and hit teams on the counter all game which is not something we are going to do unless it is against one of the top teams.

Plus they had Mahrez who could carry the ball forward, we don't have someone in the same quality as that.

Point is, i would like to see a varying tactic with it rather than over the top if this lad signs. Even if he was used to stretch the defence ala vardy or long.

Perez isn't even here and we're already talking about where he'll fit into the "new system".

No European football, no more quality players coming in this transfer window.

If this is true and he rejected a move because we're not in Europe, isn't that incredible short term thinking. You sign a five year contract at a club who's in Europe now, what gives you any assurances they will be next season?
