Everton Transfer Thread 2016

Mate, I know it's been said, but Leicester won the bloody league using the same tactic.

Now, I'm not saying we're going to use it all the time, but clearly Koeman likes variation - as does Walsh.

Look at Southampton last year, with Long in for some games, Pelle for others and sometimes both.

Del can do a stint there but mainly on the counter as he can only really run in behind, whereas a player who is a natural striker (Perez) can vary his game a bit more due to the experience of playing the position.

Thing is mate, Leicester won the league with that tactic fair enough, but how many teams went out and parked a bus against leicester - very very few, most teams - even ones like West Brom went out to get a result against them, a team just looking to mirror that tactic this season won't have half the joy, look at Leicesters first two games to see how teams are gonna play them this year (and how teams play against the rs etc)

Why are players with no bids seemingly on the table from European clubs turning us down for not being in Europe? Stay at your jarg club whilst we wave at you from Europe next season.

(Discounting Ghezzal as I believe that's a boyhood club/CL thing)

He's just reporting what a radio station is saying mate - not that it's fact.

Translated the tweets read:

"LUCAS - Aim RADIO MARCA CORUÑA that a key to reject the British offer could be Everton factor will not play in Europe."

"LUCAS - Aim RADIO MARCA CORUÑA that offer Everton (2M and 4 years) is better than the offer of renewal of Dépor (1M and 7 years)."

"LUCAS - Informa RADIO MARCA CORUÑA Everton would pay Proviso and a chip to 2 million net player more bonuses for goals."

"LUCAS - Informa Alberto Gómez Barros in Al Primer Toque ONDA CERO Everton offer the 20 million clause for Depor 7."
I dont know anything about this Lucas, yet I really want him to sign. I think its the transfer sickness..

You know full well that is was everywhere in the media that the manager would have £100 million available for players.

Personally I never believed it, so am not going to cry about it, but it's very easy to see why people are a bit underwhelmed with the way summer has gone.

Not sure what your point is mate. I responded to someone saying Moshiri hasn't invested and we haven't even spent the Stones money. My post was to disprove that.

The secondary point is the alleged £100m transfer fund. The one that everyone took up from the press speculation. Well as I said earlier we've made a dent in that and we appear to be making significant bids for a number of players. Can't help but agree that it's disappointing that we haven't had more success in the market for our key (and expensive) targets so far, and I'm hoping the next week will be more fruitful, but I just don't get the view that many are putting out that Moshiri is a fraud and an asset stripper and is not intent on spending money to build a team to challenge for titles and trophies, especially when there is still the most important week of the transfer window to come.

Some people just love to wallow in negativity and seem to just live for that 'told you so' moment rather than seeing where we are once the window 'slams' shut.

Be glad to see the back of the window. It should shut the day before the 1st game.

It's turned into a massive game of risk between all clubs with nobody wanting to blink first.

The only beneficiaries are the likes of Sky, and surprise, surprise SkyBet and their ilk.

BTW, I don't buy the "not in Europe" thing, it's just become a convenient shorthand for a whole host of other potential concerns. If anything, we just don't have a high enough profile and we can only correct that through CL qualification and/or, winning something. Chicken and Egg.

Leiscter also sat back in their half and hit teams on the counter all game which is not something we are going to do unless it is against one of the top teams.

Plus they had Mahrez who could carry the ball forward, we don't have someone in the same quality as that.

Point is, i would like to see a varying tactic with it rather than over the top if this lad signs. Even if he was used to stretch the defence ala vardy or long.

And that's what will be used.

You're doing your thing of jumping to conclusions based on very little again mate.

All the evidence points to Koeman being more than willing to switch things up on a needs-be-basis

Europa league isn't look like such a waste of time after all it seems.

amazes me that players who would be stepping up by moving here are quick to write us off if the reports are true

Everyone is calm at the moment because we've just beat West Brom and Yeovil.

People will quickly change their tune when we lose a few games. The squad isn't good enough as things stand, I worry about the season ahead personally.
Who cares what a jarg psychic thinks. I'll reserve judgement until after the window shuts ta very much.

We won't be looking to mirror it. We'll be playing how Koeman likes to play with is fast direct football, primarily on the deck.

Just watch Southampton for the past two years.

It'll be based on that, but ideally with better players to take us to the next level.
