Everton Transfer Thread 2016

Even if we win the league this season people will still moan because 'we avnt signed no big name playas doe lad'

I couldnt give a 'f' about big name players as long as koeman and walsh sign players that suit the system that they want us to play.

The team is most definitely greater than the sum of its parts and from what ive seen of us so far this season (although admittedly its still very early) i'm excited about what Koeman is building and think we are just a couple of signings (they dont have to be ''big name'' signings) off having a top squad for this year

Some people on here need to have a reality check.

We've just finished 11th for the second season in a row. We aren't in Europe. No world class players are itching to come here.

These things take time. However, we've improved our first 11 and at the same time weakened our rivals. Also, we've not missed out on any players to our immediate rivals (Arsenal can offer Perez Champions league, so don't count) like we did last season.

This window has been very far from [Poor language removed]. I have 100% confidence in us finishing in a European spot this year.

Weakened our rivals? Swansea and Crystal Palace?

Christ that has depressed me.

I'm gonna lend some moral support to Blue Toff here.

There must be 15/20 posters on this forum who consistently make negative posts. Often their posts are full of anger and vitriol and invariably disrespectful to those who disagree with them. I also believe they would continue to find negativity whatever the clubs actions, and to some extent I can understand that as supporting Everton for any length of time does tend to turn you into a cynic. Now this is a forum and I accept they are 100% entitled to express their views. I rarely agree with their comments and quite often find them distasteful, but to be honest I simply can't be arsed responding to them as I know it won't change them or their views. I'm just glad I don't have to sit next to them at the match each week.

Blue Toff is somebody who has taken it upon himself to counter their negativity, and very often it has appeared to be a lone vigil at times. On this particular thread, he has possibly been the most prolific poster, but I don't think I have once seen him be disrespectful in any of his responses. In fact his posts are usually eloquent in content and his arguments well structured, but in my view that is completely different to "talking down to everyone". He's as entitled to his views the same as anyone and I think he does it less offensively than most posters on here.

The accusations against Blue Toff made in your post are, in my view, too personal, inaccurate and unfair.

My post wasn't meant as a personal attack on @BlueToff sometimes hard to find the right words to put across. I quite like Toff, all I was doing was countering his positivity with a dose of scepticism, and having a playful dig. It's all good.

Thanks for your input and maybe you should say whats on your mind more. I like to think i see both sides nothing wrong in that.

I dont think he's the type to suffer fools gladly, tbh. There's no way Koeman will be like Moyes and Martinez - putting up with the nonsense that goes on at this club.

I'd be amazed if he was here in a couple of seasons. If he makes a success of it - he'll want to kick on with a top European club or one of our Sky 4/5; if he's treading water he'll start pointing fingers and agitating for a fight and a pay-off.

This feller is a different kettle of fish to what we're used to.
Consdering his track record, i fully expect him to be gone in 2 years either way. Think it would have to take monumentus successfor him to stay any longer.

That is why i am not too bothered about who we sign as long as the squad is balanced and he makes us competitive.

Koeman walks after 2 years as per usual with the team either top 4 or top 6 then he has ultimately done a much better job than his predecessor and if we do have money like we are led to believe, i would imagine we could attract a better stock of manager and player in that scenario.

It's weird that Farhad put out that statement and since there's been nothing close to finalising. He's almost hung himself out to dry. It's bizarre and amateurish. If the money is there then use. I don't give a damn about bloody January.

I think this is what makes me confident that longer term we will spend money and even short term players will be brought in. There is absolutely no way Koeman will cover for a board in the way Martinez and Moyes might do for the good of the team. If they try to pull a stunt, lead him to believe something that doesn't happen etc he will just up and leave.

We were very close to signing Perez, til Arsenal came in. Hardly Moshiri's fault is it?
You have no idea how far or close we are to signings.
