Everton Transfer Thread 2016

I don't get this trend about fans being excited about transfer fees - So what we're getting £8.5m for Naismith? Have we turned into a bunch of accountants?

The cold hard facts are that we'll have one less player in the squad and we probably won't replace him

For all the accusations of 'FM playing beauts' on here - I think buzzing off transfer fees is the most FM beaut behaviour possible

Martinez always says we'll leave transfer windows stronger than entering them. I think he's been as good as his word so far on that claim.

At the moment we are one player up with the Swiss kid in for next season and none departed - yet. If Naismith goes then I expect another in at least for that Martinez boast to ring true.

The point is - the more money we get, the more money we get to spend on better players... ;)

because, if we get good money for our players, then we can use money to buy others. simple really.

If we do sign a player in January it will probably be an inflated price, apart from Yarmolenko I can't name one other player of the top of my head that is realistic option this time of year. Not saying Yarmolenko was ever realistic like.

Big reliance on Lukaku staying fit but then again most clubs have that fear, we're would Spurs be without Kane..

Mirallas/Kone will need to fit in if Rom misses anytime.

Byram is a big loss. His decision to snub us doesn't look good for the manager. Never mind.

We need cover/competition at right back. Coleman has been a shadow of what he can be, a mixture of playing through injury and complacency.

Full backs are vital to how Martinez sets up, it's no lesser a position than anywhere else and we need cover and competition for it.

OK mate the table doesn't lie, thus Leicester should now really be classified amongst the elite in the premiership, also CVhelsea are now at best a lower half team or maybe even a relegation battler.

As for winning trophies, out of us and West Ham who do you think is the most likely to win a trophy this year mate? just out of interest?

Check out the league positions for more than a 18 month period mate before you start trying to cast things in stone, maybe be more fair to use over the past 4-5 years - I'm sure Byram could remember that long ago as he isn't that young after all is he?

Actually every man and his dog who has wrote or commented about us this season thinks we are a under performing team - besides Chelsea THE most under performing one, actually pretty sad to see that Evertonians seem to be the only ones who disagree with that lol

Question for you, currently sitting just 6 points away from 6th position as we are, do you think that this season we have been underperforming?

Yes, and massively under performing. Just going on games we have conceded silly goals in we could be minimum 10 points probably more, better off. We are a team that scores 3, then just goes and concedes 4 to make sure we aren't winning. We are the team that twice this year conceded a 3-2 with the last kick of the game. We are the team that limited leiscter to 2 goal scoring oppertunites all game, one they missed, and yet they scored 3 times?! We are the club who have a 19 goals striker so far and have only won 6 games? or a midfielder who is close to 10 assists now surely? So yeah, we are hugely under performing to the point that the norm under martinez is currently mid table rather than top 5. Throw anything at the team, we are stuggling to get 3 points, and we struggled to get 3 points last year as well, hardly a coincidence.

If leiscter get into the champions league then they would be there on performance alone by amassing enough points. Would that make them better than us? Yes it would, they could beat more teams, including us, to get them points. Chelsea have under performed as well, but if come the end of the season they are in the top 6-7 then they have had a indifferent season. Point is if they finished 18th then they would deservidly go down as one of the worst teams in the league, champions or not. The League doesn't lie.

And over the past 5 seasons, ok our last 5 league positions, from oldest to now, 7-7-6-5-11. So outside of europe 3 out of 5 times, pretty much means we didn't achieve anything in those seasons. What does that tell you?

I´m really dissappointed that Byram prefers West Ham.
It was a typical Everton move. Young, english and I think if he had join us, in 2 years he would be an english international his price tag would be 13-18 m.

Right back was not as urgent as certain other areas though. I really don't see it as a big loss at all. If the manager is that bothered about it there are a million other Sam Byram's out there.

Sorry mate, but probably the most foolish post I've read here today. Football is all about money today, accept it and move on.

West Ham also produce England players, mate.
