@Zatara

You've mentioned Tielemens a few times Zat (as have others of course) but I believe this may be of interest to you.

An opinion of the lad from an Anderlecht fan - posted 2 and a half weeks ago.

He' s had a ropey few months actually but i think its because hes a young player and also needs a move.

Whenever I've seen him play mate he's looked good but I've never thought 'I'd be desperate to get him'. He's 18/19 and I think from what I've seen I've been ass equally impressed by a player like Cook at Leeds - who would cost about £15mil less!

I'm not saying he's not good, but just not what we need right now IMO. My preference is give Besic the role, sort out other areas that need improving first and then bring in another centre mid (preferably young so we avoid a Gibbo situation where we have a player on big wages not getting game time and not being able to develop in the academy either).

Depends if you want to aim for top 4-6 or just muddle along i suppose

But he's not that good Zat?

That's my point.

Spend £20mil on a player who plays in a poor league and doesn't yet look to be ready physically for this level? Or spend £20mil on a proven playmaker that will help us unlock packed defences and turn draws into wins etc... while focusing on the quality we have in central midfield (Besic, Ledson, McCarthy etc.) and then adding a player to it.

I'd rather see our £4mil signing continue to improve like he has being doing when fit this season than spend £20mil on an 18-year-old YouTube sensation Zat, that's all. Nothing to do with ambition.

Doesn't mean we should spend £20mil on a central midfielder when we already have a very good one though.

What Besic needs is an extended break in the summer and he'll get that. A good pre-season then to get him up to full fitness and that reduces the risk of those niggling injuries.

Other areas to prioritise first I feel.

how many good midfielders have never kicked on because of niggly injuries? cant pin our hopes on someone who cant put a run of games together luckily we have quite a few center mids for now in clev barry mccarthy but when barry retires/moves on going to need another cm, i can tell you love besic like and i do like him but cant just make hunches haha hopefully he does put injuries behind him and we dont have to sign another cm

No you can't just go on hunches but his injury history before this season is fine. He needs a good pre-season (which he didn't have last year) and he's showing he has all the attributes.

I really don't see the desperate need for a centre mid. A playmaker is more important to play out wide left or take over from Barkley in the no.10 position if needed - which could also allow Barkley to move back and be an option there.

Would rather us not spend £20mil in that position when we have good players for it anyway.

So we will have Money to spend this summer, what positions do we need to improve on first

New goalkeeper
New right back
New left side player

I would like to spend most of the money on a left side player, I'm not sure the yarm is what we need, is he best on the left? As we have Lennon and del for the right. Maybe someone like Felipe Anderson or is out of our league?

Howard is gone so a new keeper, Martinez must decide if he wants a backup or first team keeper.

Coleman needs competition so a young right back would be great.

I'd still love us to go for Bonaventura from Milan.

They've been linked with going for Ben Arfa so if they don't get Europe they may have to sell a player. Bonaventura would fit in perfectly.
