Your theory is essentially sign a top striker and everything else will work itself out except Arsenal did that model this year and were 8th and we did that model with Rom and also never made the CL (and when Rom was actually a 20 goal a season striker never passed 8th). So I'd say the theory is maybe not all the way there but keep going.

It’s obviously not... it’s the final piece to the puzzle. A striker in isolation can’t do it... it’s takes a system... from squad to manager to support staff...

We should have made the CL in a few years of that Moyes squad... give Alex Ferguson our team of 2008 and easy top 3.. easy!

Maybe palace will take tosun and bolasie back
Palace have spent some of the Zaha money on the lad from QPR but I would not be at all surprised if they had an interest in somebody like Tosun or Iwobi plus cash with Zaha going the other way. They would get two players for no money.

I have no idea if we have the slightest interest in Zaha however.

Hard to say I think. I'm not sure that side was that great in terms of individual players, it was just a very good unit. Moyes was part of the unit, so it's difficult to know what would have happened under a different manager.

Keane is like marmite half on here want him sold,we haven’t got a clue on Gbamin weather as He has not played enough, it you put Doucoure in ahead of Gomes says a lot,Beanard has 5minutes here and there and will probably be sold, CL improved before the break then reverted back to his old self,Colman yes a good back up and Gordon who looks about 2seasons away from pushing for a regular start.
we need a bench pushing the first 11 and I know it won’t happen overnight but if we started those 7 in a 2nd round cup game we would all be worried about progression, you see a bench with Quality I see 5 that we should be trying to off load,it’s just an opinion
There's a lot of things we need that we're just going to have to wait for. But half the people on here would say Keane is decent back up. Coleman can still do a job when used moderately. Gbamin looks a fine prospect and did well in a good league. Gomes will be boss again when fit. Bernard has many decent displays under his belt. Has had mental issues that he can overcome. Gordon is another that looks like a fine prospect. And DCL was being spoken of in England terms 5 months ago. All depends on your point of view.

Name me a better bench outside the top 6 and name me a better Everton bench in the last 20 years.

I wonder if there is anything we can work out with Real for James like we did with Barry? Loan fee with obligation to buy next year, punts the proverbial can down the road on FFP?
Real won't go for that he's out of contract next year, he comes on loan to us has a great season then there's nothing stopping one of the big sides coming in and taking him on a free.
