An interesting article. As far as Everton is concerned, on the section “a depressed market” second paragraph it mentions how it will favour some clubs. If, we have usmanov’s money behind us and ffp is not a restriction could this apply to us??

And Gomes is far better on the ball than he is when the other team have it. That is a real weak spot.

Yeah. If we are going to play him then we need others around him who can actually run without looking like they are stuck in cement.

Gabriel would be a good start to fixing our backline (hopefully), but if the goals keep going in next year it'll be time to get another CB next summer. Our defense is far from where it needs to be and this run of form that we're crediting Holgate for is imo a matter of low standards rather than high performance.

Or how about we buy a goalkeeper that saves more than 50% of shots at him?

If we stick with Pickford and he accepts the wage we have Stek on then I wouldn't object too much.

Been a bit out the loop - why would FFP not be a restriction?

A defensive system in midfield were you would expect to see strengthening would be a big help for our defense as well. Zero balance in midfield this season.

Coutinho is a non-starter.

Wages and fee would be astronomical, he won't be going anywhere that isn't Champions League guaranteed and he loves Liverpool and has said he would never upset their fans.
