He was excellent for England in the world cup. He just hasn't recovered since his Anfield mistake.
I also think you need a commanding goalkeeper.

But that is caused because of the intensity that the PL has... and also quality strikers are the ones that takes advantage of those mistakes

I dont think Allan is a hard man either. Hes an all round midfielder and would be well suited to playing in a 4 4 2.

As a final point, let's be fair here, Napolis players are levels ahead of where our players are. So if the fee is right, with all of the above I'm happy with it. He might provide what we hoped Delph would.

Allan is seen as a warrior in Italy...proper up + down player and definitely not soft.

For me its the Italian leagues 2020 version of a Roy Keane type player.

A year or two ago we would have had to pay £60mil+ for him.

The question mark is going to be on his age and adaptability. If Ancelotti wants him then he'll he confident that he can adapt + then i suppose its whether you would want a 29 year old Keane on a 5 year deal.

I think he'd walk into our midfield and be seen as one of the best in the league after 6 months.

I dont think he solves out centre midfield problem though as he would be playing next to:

Gomes - Inconsistent
Gbamin - Who knows
Davies - Average
Delph - awful

I still think we should be after Tonali from Brescia. In fact I could see him and Allan being a perfectly balanced central midfield pair.

Just to add to this, if we did sign Gabriel and Allan then with Richarlison up top we would have a Brazilian spine + they will all be in the Brazil squads.

Id imagine other players would see that and be interested in playing alongside them.

You forgot Everton Soares aswell mate

Him and Richarlison on either wing would be fantastic with a proper CF slotter signed to partner Bambi up top.

Goal threat from all over the front/wide positions.
 

I like were we are reported to be targeting, right down the spine of the team, just where we need it. Each of all those players empower us to press, add energy and legs to the team that often missing. Its a simple game.

I wouldn't be opposed to Edouard either, this is the cheapest he is going to be, with the biggest ???? over him. But not essential.

What I like about Brazilians is in general they have a winners mentality. There is an expectation that they need to win. We need more of that as a club.

I think Edouard would be a really good signing. I worry about Kean though who will need game time. Maybe Richarlinson plays off the flank a bit.
 
Still think we need that 1 big name signing to say to the world Everton are back.

Even if it was a Coutinho or a Bale on loan for the season with an option to buy the following year someone to really have people talking.

Then add sprinkles of astute signings around that player like Gabriel, Allan, Everton Soares & Edouard/Belotti and we are right up there.
