Does Eric dier still get first team football at spurs? Wouldn’t mind him if price was alright, ability to play defence or midfield would help us a lot, and has connections with us from when he was here before
I think he’s going into the final year of his contract so could be cheap. If we could afford wages for him to be a squad player then yes, but I don’t see him being a starter that could take us up the league. He’s just another Phil Jones type, not good enough at CB but physical enough in CM to be carried by better players. He can score a pen though...

I doubt he would go to Leicester ( Grealish) if they sold Maddison, would he see it as lacking ambition?

Thinking about it I can’t see any off the top 6 wanting him or needing him. Utd have been linked, but they’ve just bought Fernandes. Arsenal maybe, but they would need to shift Ozil. And he would cost 20mil to cancel his contract and add another 30/40 down payment for grealish, I don’t think Arsenal have that type of money.

Spurs have Ali and Le Celso as number 10/attacking midfielders.

So maybe we have a chance if we want him.

Thats it for me with Grealish, will the really big teams want him - maybe Spurs, but not a Mourhino type player. Grealish is a tidy player, but the type of player who will need to be the one a team is built around, im not sure hes getting that beyond the level he is at or maybe a Leicester, im not that keen on him as i would have a concern hes the type to struggle in a new environment with less of a role he is used to at Villa. With Leicester being in the midlands i could see that being a logical move for him if Villa are relegated and if bigger clubs weren't in for him. But hes not one i think is for us, just my opinion mind.

Maddison i think has something a bit more special and a bit more about him character wise, i could see him gong on to a CL club, which is why a Gylfi move to Leciester i thought wasnt out of the realms of possibility, thats the market they will be looking in.

He was excellent for England in the world cup. He just hasn't recovered since his Anfield mistake.
I also think you need a commanding goalkeeper.
The premier league is at a way higher level than the teams he was supposedly excellent against. put him in the championship and he’ll probably look great too.

It’s all about opinions and grealish has a bit of baggage. I never really got the hype with him until this season, I think he’s really had a good season. Especially in a poor team and as the star man, has probably been targeted every week.

I think he’s better than Maddison lol, Maddison is a better goal scorer, but I think grealish has better vision and also he hasn’t had a striker of the quality of vardy infront of him.

I just think he would suit our left hand side. And is better than iwobi & Bernard, while also being more of a midfielder.

He was a bit miffed that they didn't do golf buggys and had to walk around. Bought some golf balls off a couple of young lads who had used a shopping basket to get balls out of the pond at the 8th hole. Noticed he gave the lad who had the Everton top on more money than his mate.

Not sure I believe this. Everyone knows the 5th hole water hazard is the best place to buy balls.

It will be interesting to see it their valuations drop...

We need players who will fit Carlo’s system, Grealish seems to play best in a three man midfield which we don’t play.

If 442 is going to work we’ll either have to go the way Carlo went at Milan of a narrow diamond in which case Grealish could ply one of the two flank roles, or we go with out and out pace on the wings in which case he probably doesn’t fit.
I’d actually like to see us go for a midfield diamond as it might get the best out of Bernard if he was behind the strikers, would suite Gomes a bit more than being in a two, and would allow Gbamin to sit deep. We’d need a far better right back to make it work though and far quicker centrebacks.

Pickford

New RB, Magahles Mina Digne

Holgate/Gbamin
Allan/new CM Gomes

Bernard/Iwobi

DCL. Richarlison

Its crossed my mind mate, but i think if you have real ambition you have to be prepared to have very good players who wont play every game. In that context you have to have a base line standard and young players have to hit it to progress. I think we have been programmed a bit at Everton into having one main striker and a bit part back up, its different at CL clubs, i see absolutely nothing wrong with having three really top prospects up front especially if we play with two, and you aspire for Europe and runs in the cup while competing in the PL. He might also enable a 4-3-3 at times, kind of like how Utd set up. We are down a body with Niasse and anything could happen with Sandro, but it wont be here.

Edouard is a good investment. Ive seen him a lot, he has a broad skill set, he can finish, hes powerful, he can play the British style, is aggressive, he has pace, but more importantly he can create and assist he is a clever player balancing that out with goals. He can also play upfront on his own and of the shoulder. Thats a skill set that would be useful to have in our squad and hes is still developing, he still has terrific potential.

Is he essential probably not, is he ripe for the picking absolutely. I wouldn't be surprised to see him at Leicester or Arsenal though.

Yes good post that mate. It's hard with transfers but I tend to try and look how do we eliminate most risks. He is living here, looks like he has the profile of a forward player who would suit the PL, if French, has a bit of the Dembele about him. Lived in a similar city to Liverpool. Is a good age, 22, not so young like Kean where he is very raw, but his best years ahead of him. He ticks a lot of boxes for me.

I think you answer your own question there a little mate. He could play the role identified for Bernard. He could play off the left and be quite successful at it I reckon.

I mean I wouldn't go for Grealish, unless Villa are hard hit and his price goes down a little, and I also think he will be at United, but he could play the role Bernard is earmarked for. I wonder if we may use Bernard as a makeweight for a Pelligrini too.

Grealish has been a clear step up from Maddison this year in a significantly worse team. It's hard for me to see where the Maddison is better argument even comes from at this point.

Hamez 35m, 200k a week, 4 year contract = No resale, injured constantly - 76m
Grealish 60m, 100k a week and a bottle of babysham, 5 year contract, 60m sale in 4 years - 25m

For the record I wouldnt touch either.

them numbers aren’t even close to being realistic. Not using recent figures of moves anyway, this virus will probably have an impact on player values andthat makes it pretty much impossible to predict

Dembele would be great, he’s Hardly been fit for the last year or so though. Maybe a loan deal.
If he can get fit he would be Amazing down the right.

Got a bigger entourage then Royston Drenthe and an even bigger attitude.

Read somewhere he was fined by Barcelona twice for being late for training and a hoard of mates watching
