I guess in reality you are right here. We do already have a mid-table at best PL player, on wages that are going to make him difficult to move, who came in on a free in that position already, so what is really the point in getting another?
No mate.

Bernard and Fraser are essentially the same level. Aside from Bernard not hitting double figures in goals and assists in 1 and 3/4 seasons and Fraser hitting 21 in one season. Other than that they're the exact same level. No mate.

Yeah I get it now. It still only makes sense for me if we find a way to sell Bernard. If we aren't making money on the transaction I don't see it as a big enough upgrade to be worthwhile. When Sunderland come in to take him off our hands and offer him 20k a week.
Those numbers would be what are referred to as facts. The stuff about the same level you can change around I guess. In your opinion.
100k a week. Ryan Fraser. Tell me those two things belong together.
He'll want a minimum 4 year contract as well. Brentford on loan 2022/23 with us paying 90% of his wage and lids on here saying "what's Brands supposed to do, nobody will take on his wages".

For example: Bernard is better than Fraser with his 5 goals and 4 assists in 1 and 3/4 seasons because Fraser only managed to get 8 goals and 18 assists in the same period.
Goals and assists aren't everything, but when an attacking player has 3 times as many as another attacking player that means something, no?For you to say "Fraser and Bernie are on the same level" thats literally your opinion.
Unless you are switching your view that goals and assists are the only way to judge players?

I just think we should maybe hold off on the "sell Iwobi if we are getting Fraser" shouts when Iwobi has barely played under the new manager.
Also I mostly was just trying to mess with our boy Windy here as I find it entertaining how he likes to randomly post calling out me on Lookman when he seems to pop up here, there and everywhere else defending Bernard just the same.
Fraser linked with Arsenal, Spurs and us. Yet he’s clearly “terrible”. I swear we could be paying £25m and £100k a week to some winger that no one has ever heard of who was just as good and people would be over the moon. He’s at the very minimum as good as what we have, for free.
Remember when we got Tom Cleverley on a free, he wasn’t exactly good enough for us but I’d argue he wasn’t utterly terrible or at least as bad as people made out, we sold him a year later for £8m or so and made massive profit off him because of it.
Players like Fraser who have at least a minimum of £10m resale value are a no brainier on a free, either they’re good enough or you sell them for profit. Also this talk of him getting £100k a week has literally just been made up out of thin air. The lad is on £27k a week at Bournemouth, you could easily triple his wage and it’d still be nothing for our squad. But don’t let facts get in the way of fuming for the sake of fuming.
I'm both against signing Fraser and of the opinion that he'd probably be our best winger if we did sign him. Which is a weird spot but I think both of those ideas can be true at the same time.Well you know I like Bernie, I've said many times he needs to produce more.
Im spending most days utterly ripping Iwobi a new 1 and I defo haven't given up on him yet, but I really cant see him making it here.
And I'm honestly not even against Fraser, last season he was very good, but history suggests it was a flash in the pan and him leaving B'mouth in the crap doesn't sit right with me, I'm very aware why he's doing it, he's putting himself first, which I know I would, but it still doesn't sit right. His 100k doesn't even bother me, but is he the player we should be going for?
If he's better than Iwobi or Bernie isn't really an issue, lets be honest we can and should be doing better than all 3.
If he ends up at one of those he’s a squad player. But somehow he’s not good enough to be a squad player here at worst? That’s all I’m saying. We want to get into the Champions League but we’re not doing that over night and it won’t be without a squad full of Premier League capable players first off. Our first 11 isn’t even that great nevermind the depth behind it.Be utterly stunned if he turns up at Arsenal or Spurs myself.
We are talking about an attacking player that has had less input than our RB this season.
I fail to see how he improves a team who wishes to crack the top 4.

Also think it’s a bit unfair to judge him on this season, was basically promised a move last summer to a big club that never happened to stay for a relegation fight. Same as Zaha. Good players in poor teams that lose motivation, Zaha is a local lad for Palace and obviously cares more for them though. Obviously a player should perform no matter what but given the modern game it’s very understandable, especially when he’s on such low wages compared to most other players in the league. It’s their livelihood after all.
