So the 100s still supporting the manager had no affect on the boards decision not to sack him? If you believe that.....

Many on here were still backing him after every dismal defeat we know the ones spouting "noone can do better"...

Cmon ffs, this is Everton. If you are going to spend most of your posts proclaiming negative crap about the club you are going to be right a lot of the time as we are a horrendously run organisation.

You are acting all aggrieved like you were some magical Nostradamus type and the only one who could see the manager wasn’t working out

Stop with the victim stuff, if you were getting pelters during Lampard time with us it was mainly due to your style of posting and habit of repeating yourself several times a day. Which is fine, it’s your way and you don’t deliberately wind people up but you should recognise that it’s annoying to others

You ignore the context that the vast majority of the fans had no strong opinion as to whether he was or could be a decent manager, they were simply beaten down by the previous dumb and insulting appointment and tired of changing managers.

In normal circumstances Lampard would have lasted way less time and most of the fans would have wanted him gone. They weren’t normal circumstances tho, and it’s a bit dishonest to carry on like it was

Unfortunately it’s mostly about the result the position we are in,I was actually encouraged in general, one of the better performances this season, not a high bar level I know!!better than last week, unfortunately it is that final third area that undone us and the fact Villa have midfielders with ability to shoot, maybe Garner can provide a spark for us,Simms has to be given the shirt Wednesday if Calvert Lewin is absent yet again,McNeil won me over today, never stopped all game,if we had actually had a proper target man for him to look for it could have been oh so very different.
Excellent summary.

…I think the referee was another example of an official wanting to be noticed.

An old mate of mine (who is no longer with us) made what I thought was a great point. Before the PL era referees came onto the pitch unnoticed some minutes after the players. My mate said it was a huge mistake letting them lead the players out and take the match ball.

The game should be about plplayers.
Excellent point

Even being so poor in the final third we really should have been in front before the penalty

FWIW I am still holding every single supporter that wanted to keep hold of Lampard even after the Bournemouth games partly responsible, you are the people that kept him in the job for far far too long......
I agree he should have gone sooner. He was prioritising his preferred style of play, regardless of the fact that the players couldn't play that way.

We played well (far better than we ever did under Frank) and we got desperately unlucky with some of the officiating during the game.

Shame on those in the media who have written us off and who say that we're essentially down and out now. One guy on one of the radio channels earlier said that we were now destined to be a lower league side for the rest of time and that when we go down the BMD stadium will forever be a half-built reminder of a poorly run club that thought it was bigger than it was.

They really are relishing this.

But I still remember Wimbledon. I will not give up on our great club.

In my opinion if we has a decent centre forward we would have won today. Unfortunately we haven't, well we do have one but he decides every week not to play as he has a twinge! Although said twinge doesn't stop him picking up his extravagant wage.
I would love him to sit in a room with all those who are still with us, Tommy Wright, Kenyon, Lyons, Mountfield,Reid, and so many others who played with injuries to help the team they felt pride for. The board have let us down and no mistake but so has our no9
