Not sure if it was you, but many people were saying we needed to be full strength against Burnley and I didn't feel that was the case.

Burnley sent out their reserves and we definitely could have rested an additional 2-3 players alongside Doucoure and Patterson.

That said, these are all young and ultra fit lads and they've had 2.5 days rest, should be ok. I expect the points here tbh - we're in form, only Seamus out and playing a team out of form with key injuries.

I know our home form is crap but that's no excuse at all. Anything less than 3 points and it'll be a major disappointment for me.
I said the reverse.

Tough game to call - On recent form I would see us win, on paper I'd say they are a better team.
Would actually like to see Gana back to congest and stop their midfield but who could you drop to accommodate him?
McNeil and Harrison will be busy with their fullbacks going forward on the break.
Could see this being a very tight 0-0 despite recent history and expectations. I'd be happy with that.

They won't be taking us lightly after what we did to them last season. That said, we won't be taking them lightly after what they did to US last season. As a result, I think we'll counterbalance each other to a score draw.

I worry about preparation time for this game.

They had a week and we've had 2 days.

The subs and use of them will have to be spot on by Dyche, and I don't have much faith in that.

Brighton looking for revenge over that spanking they took as well.

I'd take a draw right now in a heartbeat.
Sides who are playing well and winning games dont need to worry about being tired. Brighton are playing twice a week every other week, have a big squad but lots of injuries.

I'd say it'll probably even out on the day.

A draw would be a fine result.

I think it’ll be a good game, can see a few goals in it. I’m going 2-1 Everton , DCL to continue his excellent form and Doucoure.

Would love to see us keep rolling against a struggling Brighton team. Great opportunity, but if Im honest I just dont see it. Its too hot of a streak to continue, and while I see a draw as possible, its asking us to play beyond our ability to put up yet another win. This screams the kind of match you like on paper, and the obligatory let down where the forum melts down again until the next week. Again, Id love to see it, but Ive seen the script before and Brighton will be wanting to end their poor stretch.
Sad. But true. I've tipped a draw. 2-2.....

i really hope taking a draw isnt the mentality tomorrow. They're a decent outfit but they're not Barcelona. Our tails are up for the first time in i can remember.
Rather go for the throat and lose than show them any respect of happy with a draw.

Toffees on the up

Brighton have all of a sudden become a tricky team to pin down. Yes they continue to score goals, netting in every league game so far this season, but their xG figures have seen a little dip over their last two games - at both ends of the pitch. They have allowed 0.96 and 0.55 xGA.

Whether that trend continues remains to be seen, and while Everton have impressed of late, winning five of their last seven in all competitions, a rare free midweek for Brighton could see them contain an improving Toffees attack. This is a tough one to call.

Score prediction: Everton 1-1 Brighton (Sky Bet odds: 13/2)
